Flacos was one of the first restaurants (another 1st lol) I ate going vegan. I wanted to hit up all the cuisines I felt were "comfort food" and Mexican is one of them. My first experience wasn't that great. I only order their taquitos because I just wanted to "try it out." It wasn't a wow experience. But 2nd time around a year or so after and before an Oakland A's with some friends, I opened up the menu and ordered what I got today. Fortunately, I caught their "Taco Thursday" today: 2 spicy tacos especial and a tamal poblano. HELLA BOMB! Their "soy protein" filling was seasoned to perfection and the avocado sauce was delicious!! Their tamale was ok...I was expecting a chunky piece of poblano pepper inside. But it was some pieces, hardly any. Their price point is affordable., $11 & some change out the door. But overall, left feeling satisfied after the meal. 5 stars.

A must hit spot in the Bay - Edit
Always go to Flacos when we visit the Bay Area. This time around we around the Taco Plate, Tamale Plate and some Taquitos w/ a Horchata. Everything was excellent!

My family each ordered a different item, and each one was absolutely delicious! The service in this tiny place is friendly and welcoming. Everything was deep and flavor, served at a great temperature, and fantastic.

The staff was very nice. Rice, beans, and salad -- which make up most of the plates at Flacos -- are pretty bland. The taquitos, etc are pretty good but don't stand out to me. Not the best representation of vegan food in the area. I personally won't go back but Flacos seems to a have steady flow of customers.

The food was rather bland though.. adding salsa shouldn’t be the purpose of adding flavor, the taqiutos could have used some vegan cheez and the tamale first bite was dry. The Strawberry aqua fresca was refreshing!

If I told you how many times I've been here with family and friends...you would think I love the place. And that is 100% true! I love Flacos! Their safe is of the friendliest♡ I don't free of trying anythin on their menu because it is all so delicious. I'm Mexican and can tell everyone this place satisfies my cravings for bomb traditional mexican food. All vegan 🥰Ⓥ I'm obsessed...I love their horchata hah just gotta put that down to. Please go and try it out! You wont regret it!

I've been here twice and both times have loved the food. The staff are very nice and the whole atmosphere is down-to-earth and cozy. I highly recommend the taco pobres, the taquitos and the huaraches.

This place grows on me every time we visit. First visit was ok, was probably looking for more of a restaurant atmosphere. Now we thoroughly enjoy this small local joint. The food is good and cannot find this fare anywhere else. Had the huarache on recent visit and it was very good.

UPDATE: I continue to love this place! I finally broke out of my taquito plate rut and order the red huarache. It was super yummy and the portion was huge. It could easily have been split in half for two delicious meals for $10. I continue to love this place! It's a tiny place with outdoor seating which, granted, is in the parking lot.
