Chelsea bun - Edit
2023: Came here just for the Chelsea buns. They very nearly ran out of them and had ran out in the other branch on the day we visited. Sat in and service was good too
Read more2025: They have two shops/cafes next to each other, one for mainly eating in and one take away. We were mistakenly told that it would be cheaper to buy a box of Chelsea buns next door which wasn’t the case. They’re quite pricey for what they are

Good vegan breakfast. - Edit
They offer a vegan fried breakfast. There was also a vegan shakshuka option. The service is quick. Clean, popular venue with efficient service.

Fantastic Chelsea Bun - Edit
Had to try the famous Chelsea bun and it was soft light and delightfully sticky with the glaze on top - which I think might be maple syrup based? Deserves all the hype! They also do very good coffee , though I got this from the location opposite kings college.
Read moreThey had at least 4 vegan bakery options as well as some good food options!
Pros: Great tasting bun, Some good vegan options , Lots of locations around the city!
Cons: A bit pricey but it’s cheaper to take away

Had the mushroom, spinach, cheese and pesto sandwich. Really delicious. Chelsea buns are epic as well! Slightly pricy. #Veganuary

THE BEST VEGAN CHELSEA BUNS! - Edit
If you’re in Cambridge or visiting, you HAVE to stop in Fitzbillies and try the famous Chelsea Bun which is vegan! It’s the tastiest, gooiest and sweetest bun I’ve ever had! It definitely deserves the hype it gets. Not only that, Fitzbillies has plenty of other vegan options on offer; from cakes, to toasties, breakfasts and vegan sausage rolls. I would love to return and try their breakfast at some point. All of their food looks amazing and the cafe inside is really nice to sit in. There’s also plenty of locations around the city so it’s easy to find! But if you visit you have to at least give the Chelsea Bun a go! IT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!

DELISH vegan breakfast - Edit
Aside from wishing the Chelsea Bun was vegan or there was a vegan option available (I mean, it’s 2021!) the vegan breakfast was delicious.
Read moreI believe the vegan sausage was homemade and it was looooong and tasted superb.
Giant mushrooms, hash browns and toast and scrambled mushroom. The breakfast of champions.
Overall there could be more vegan options, but it’s a start.
Pros: Huge sausage, So much food, Did I mention the sausage?
Cons: Limited options, No vegan Chelsea bun, Long wait times (book ahead!)

Only 2 vegan options but tasty - Edit
Disappointed with only 2 vegan options, also think that sausages are pretty standard on a vegan breakfast (particularly for £11) & there weren’t any. Also please don’t serve the vegan breakfast with dairy butter!!!!!
Read morePros: Good quality , Tasty , Vegan cheese nice
Cons: Not much effort for vegan, Butter on vegan breakfast , Not many options

Spenny and skimpy on the vegan options - Edit
I paid close to 10 pounds for a mediocre piece of sourdough with avocado on it (and yogurt for some weird reason). It was a bad decision, but they do have some redeeming selections like their orange chocolate vegan brownie which is usually always in stock. Please do a vegan version of the Chelsea buns though!

Gorgeous bakery. - Edit
Lovely bakery with good quality food and so many tempting cakes! Always busy and relatively pricey but so worth it - a must-visit in Cambridge. Avocado toast with yoghurt was new and delicious!!! Wish living on a student budget didn't restrict me visiting so much!
