Cafe, bakery, and only organic products

Directly across street from the train station, this organic grocery store has its own small cafe, where I indulged in an oat-milk macchiato (soy milk is also available) with a scrumptious — and vegan — Pflaumen Crumble Schnitte (pictured), a large rectangular cookie consisting of a spelt crust, topped with a layer a plum preserves and another of streusel, the edges dipped in dark chocolate. Other treats, as well as a selection of breads, are available from the bakery, located in the same area.
A daily plate lunch (downloadable PDF of weekly menu on website) is offered Monday through Friday; served with a small salad, this is sometimes vegan — stir-fried vegetables (pictured) or a curry of red lentils and coconut milk, for example — but always suitable for vegetarians, who might also have the choice of quiche or some other prepared dish. (Note to vegans: Salad dressing contains dairy products; request that it be left off and use the oils and/or vinegars provided.)
Filling the aisles are nice selection of organic wines (some vegan), meat substitutes and many flavors of tofu (such as the appropriately German Black Forest), two types of vegan tortellini (one pictured), Love Chock and OmBar raw chocolate, and even vegan chocolate chips — a find in any country! A tiny frozen foods section contains a few vegan products, including a couple of "nice cream" flavors.
Apart from eatables, the entire lines of Dr. Hauschka and Weleda are carried, along with a number of cosmetic and skin-care brands less familiar to Americans. BioMarkt also stocks necessities for babies and a range of household cleaning supplies.

Pros: Cafe with hot moo-free drinks, as well as some vegan treats

Cons: Meat is among the things for sale here
