Our favourite curry house in Korea

We've been to a few curry houses in Japan and Korea so far and, as the other reviews said, this one was a cut above the rest.

We had paneer in a cashew-based sauce and the classic dal. They were both delicious, and slightly bigger portions than we'd seen in other places. What wasn't different to other curry houses in Korea was the massive naan, which we supplemented with the potato filled paratha and some Korean rice. It was a really tasty meal with friendly service.

Pros: Delicious dal, Refreshingly different paneer curry, Huge naan and great potato paratha

Vegan in Gwangju

Number of different options available to be made vegan under the vegetable curries. Had the channa masala twice, was so delicious. Highly recommend if you're stranded hungry in Gwangju!

Pros: Lots of options , Tea is really nice too

Fantastic restaurant

Great classic Indian dishes, and some Nepali dishes. We tried the Chana Masala (chickpeas), Alu Gobi (potatoes and cauliflower), green salad and Nan (flatbread), all of which were delicious 🤩

Pros: Great taste, rich sauces, Owner speaks English well, Good location, inside the downtown

Diverse, delicious options -- ask for vegan!

These guys are truly skilled chefs. They make an outstanding dhal, channa, samosa and jeera rice, so you won't have to eat the same every time. They understand what veganism means and easily replace ghee with oil. They are also good at making curries extremely spicy upon request.

Gwangju is generally a terrible city for vegan options, and none of the other "Indian" restaurants in the city even come remotely close to the options and quality of First Nepal.

Pros: Diverse vegan options, Knowledgeable, skilled chefs

Cons: Often crowded, so carnists will be munching bones around you, located in the vegan hell known as Gwangju

Delicious

I ordered the veggie Lunch set and you had two different curries and rice. Be sure to order it without the milk/ yoghurt.

The staff is nice and can speak english. He is also really communicative!

Good food, big portions

They have many vegetarian dishes and the host had good English (maybe not the waitress). On a weekday night we had the place for ourselves.
The food was very tasty and portions were big, which is not always the case in Korea. We ordered veggie pakora, palak paneer, veggie thali and a nan bread... for 2 people it was a lot of food. All of those are very good!
We would give 5 stars but HappyCow doesn't allow it for a non fully veggie place. Also, the location in the map is not exact, so use the picture of the entrance to find the place.

Pros: Tasty food, big portions, host speaks English

Great vegan oasis in Gwangju!

In a city with only one other vegan friendly restaurant, the first nepal is a great place to eat! Food is fresh, good choices and reasonably priced. Staff are accommodating and friendly!

Pros: Several vegan options, friendly staff, fresh food.

Cons: Curry can be quite spicy so ask for mild.
