advertising to be open at 8am - Edit

Very upset as they didn’t arrive until 8:10 then when I stepped in and asked if they were open they said no, not yet. Was really looking forward to trying this little place before my flight home. The thins is if there was any information of “sorry but we will be open in just a minute” or something I’d not be writing this but to completely dismiss a customer is not cool.

What a meal! - Edit

Fire & Spice let's you explore the art of Caribbean cuisine and spices with the guilt-free vegan menu that's sure to please everyone!

Popped in for lunch on a rainy Thursday and was immediately surrounded by the aromas for jerk tofu, collared greens, okra, and curried potatoes. The food spread is impress, with lots of colorful and flavorful options to choose from. One can pick 3, 5, or more dishes to fill a plate. I ended up with 7...oops!

The portion sizes seem small but they're perfectly filling for someone my size (6' 1", 155lbs) and gave me a real taste for most of the items offered. Chris, owner and chef, was extremely helpful and kind, and really has a great community surrounding him and his restaurant.

Only downside was the price. My 7 items, along with a scoop of vegan ice cream, came to $19 which was more than I expected. Clearly people enjoy the food and keep coming back though!

Thanks again for a great meal; best to you and your staff!!

Pros: Unique food, great to try!, Leaves you perfectly full

Cons: A little pricy

So yummy! - Edit

Don't be fooled by appearances, this is a little place. I was traveling to the airport, needed lunch and decided to stop here. I would go back to Hartford just to eat this food again. It was satisfying, tasted great and was obviously made with love. The people working there made the whole experience even better!

High quality, delicious vegan food in a funky environment, off the beaten path and totally worth going to. Parking is on the street and even though it's a somewhat busy street, I've always been able to find parking easily. Very casual, best to come here when you can sit for a while to enjoy the surroundings in the restaurant. Very friendly staff. Great deviation from chain restaurants or other restaurants with expected menus.

Pros: Vegan, High quality, homemade, delicious food, Cheap

Cons: In an area that people don't often drive to
