Fresh food, menu also in English - Edit
Cozy restaurant in the center of Matera. Everything on the menu is vegetarian. Menu available in English, Italian, French and German, and staff speaks English fluently. Ingredients are very fresh and locally produced, sothat dishes vary somewhat depending on what is available that day. The food was original in composition and above all very tasty. Nice mix of the typical Italian kitchen with its fresh food and overall culinary quality on the one hand, and not so Italian attitude towards meat on the other.
Pros: Fresh ingredients, Multilingual, Good atmosphere
Cons: Somewhat small portions, average price

Good food, but waited for it - Edit
We had barley soup, jacket potato and vegetable tempura. The food is nutritious and tasty. Some beer selection, but a few craft beers were pricey. On our visit there was only one person doing everything - so even though the restaurant wasn't even half full a few of us had to wait to order.
Pros: Healthy, tasty food , Good location
Cons: Slow service

Very good vegan / vegetarian option - Edit
I spent 3 days in the area and was positively surprised to find this small restaurant in the city centre. The menu lists a few options that are all made of locally harvested ingredients. I had a very good dinner there (soup + first course) accompanied by a glass of Aglianico.
Pros: excellent food, friendly staff, good location
