Good for a quite bite on the go - Edit
Porridge pot with almond milk. Choice of plant milks for the hot drinks. Falafal wrap was tasty. Also option of falafal salad and a couple of cakes.

Handy but expensive (train station) - Edit
Has a few vegan options including brownie etc. The oat burcher is also nice. Does a strong bite vegan hot chocolate which will probably need sugar for most. Expensive.

Quick and Tasty - Edit
They had several vegan options when I stopped here after a two hour train ride from London. One was an almond milk overnight oat pot with peanut butter and cocoa syrup. Combine that with a banana from the next store over and I had an awesome little breakfast. They also had a vegan falafel salad, falafel wrap, and a muffin and bar that were both vegan. They have vegan milks too.

Great on the go vegan options/snacks - Edit
Good to have some vegan snacks when changing trains here. The menu changes but the vegan desserts are especially good.

Handy station stop - Edit
Great to have somewhere the the station with a few, fresh, frequently changing vegan options. They usually have soup or stew, at least one wrap and a salad that are vegan, plus one or two bakery items.

Vegan Full English Brekky - Edit
Not a fully Vegan Cafe.
Read moreVegan English breakfast £9... Chickpea hash with spinach, Filmore smoked beans, turmeric roasted tomatoes, field mushrooms & watercress, served with our toasted vegan bread.
The textures all a bit samey / soft and so I was disappointed to start with, but as I ate on, it all started to make sense. The flavours were great and went well together eaten on. More mushrooms though please, My favourite part of breakfast is mushrooms. The toast adds a crunch but a potato hash brown would have helped with a texture contrast.

Platform Shoes - Edit
I'm already a big fan of F&U at Newcastle station (formerly known as ÜGOT) and was naturally drawn to discover the York station branch. I say branch, but I should say branches as they now have another location on platform 9. It's modern, forward thinking and the coffee is excellent. There's also plenty of seating, particularly at the second location. They have vegan cakes, sandwiches and superfood salads all clearly labelled as such. I feel much happier giving my money to these guys rather than the other well known coffee heavyweight champions of the high street and train station.

Fill your boots - Edit
This is a great place to visit if you are returning home on the train and want some vegan takeaway options. Although not extensive there are enough options to satisfy a hungry vegan such as wraps, salads, cakes and breakfasts to name a few. We got a chickpea and curry wrap and chocolate lavender chia pudding to share and both were tasty especially the pudding. Probably only worth visiting if you are commuting home but good nevertheless.
