Serves meat, vegan options available. Has vegan and vegetarian choices on the menu. Staff is familiar with vegan preferences and can make recommendations. Located downtown. Reported closed August 2022.
It's a cool place to have a drink but when I asked about the vegan options, the waiter just dryly said "we're not a vegan place sorry".
I assume that you can have fries and a side salad, but that you can get anywhere else, too.
We came on a busy Saturday night and were seated by what appeared to be the owner/manager. I asked about the vegan options and he looked confused, after I repeated a few times he replied “No. There is nothing” and rushed off.
We hoped maybe he just didn’t understand what vegan meant. But looking over the menu there were 4 vegetarian main meals and that’s it. The only apparently “safe” vegan option was the hummus and tabbouleh entree, so we just ordered that and some cocktails.
Maybe the menu has changed as I’d read other things online saying they had a vegan burrito, and the description here on Happy Cow says staff can advise on vegan options, but that was definitely not the case.
It’s a super busy / popular place with a 1930’s theme, jazz music, and good cocktails so worth a visit, just not for food.
*Edit: We went back for drinks a couple of days later and noticed a page at the back of the menu with side dishes, that we somehow didn’t see previously. Still nothing substantial, however you could probably order a bunch of sides to make a meal.
Staff is very knowledgeable on vegan options. The menu-labeled Vegan Burrito is tasty but small and on the costly side for Romanian food. The Hummas appetizer is large, order with extra Pita Bread or you’ll run out. Overall, good option for Downtown Brasov.
