In love with Fern’s - Edit
We went for dinner and again for lunch the next day on a weekend trip to the Pike’s Peak area. Such a sweet and charming spot. The decor is adorable and the service was so friendly and quick. We had the cauliflower dip starter, country fried steak, breakfast skillet, artichoke sandwich, and the super amazing triple-grilled cheese and tomato soup, made with their signature cheese curds. We enjoyed it all, but that grilled cheese is definitely not to be missed. Their house-made “moon egg” scramble is also delicious and the chef was kind enough to share the recipe, which I’m hoping to replicate at home. I’ll be eating salad all week to repent, but it was worth the indulgence. Our server Bean was super sweet, and they were very welcoming of our dog on the large patio. Go support this amazing vegan diner!

Wow!!!! - Edit
I love this place. The cheese curds are incredible. I’ve tried almost all breakfast and I have loved all of it, especially the country skillet and French toast. Also love their homemade biscuits and gravy. For lunch I really like the sun burger and Korean BBQ burger. The space is really cute and the staff are so nice. Plus you never have to guess about anything being vegan. Very highly recommend

Mountain Diner - Edit
Fern’s is a cute, all-vegan diner with a large yard for enjoying your meal outside (seating is more limited inside). I had the Patty Melt, which was delicious but quite greasy. My mom ordered the Sun Burger and enjoyed that as well. I first visited last summer and had their Brunchwrap. It was so good but unfortunately is no longer on the menu. I’m looking forward to trying more of their offerings. Their sister restaurant, the Burrowing Owl, is also wonderful!

Vegan Junk Food Done Okay - Edit
I liked the poutine tots, I disliked the artichoke sandwich (barely edible imo), I did enjoy the big breakfast skillet.

Gem of a Vegan Diner - Edit
I loved the decor at this fun little diner at the base of Pike's Peak. There are pug pics everywhere. They don't claim to offer healthy food, and they don't. If you are looking for vegan comfort food served in a delightful atmosphere by friendly people, this is the place. They accommodate food allergies well and were happy to modify dishes and put things on the side.
Read moreThe staff was super friendly, and the food was very tasty. I do wish that they served a healthy option or two. If they did, we would make this one of our regular stop ins. As it stands, this was a one-time visit for us.
My rating of 4 stars rather than 5 is due to them not having a healthy entree option and the fact that the music was too loud for the small space. With this being said, I would absolutely recommend this place to all types of eaters looking for a nice place to grab some food.

Such a cute spot, yummy vegan diner food - Edit
This is a really cute small place, visually just such a nice spot for a meal set in the mountains. We went during the winter, can’t wait to come back during the summer and try their outdoor seating. The food was yummy, not the fastest but there appeared to only be one guy in the kitchen. Not a big deal, just not a place to go if you are in a hurry.
Read moreMy wife had the stuffed French Toast, which she loved. I had the Country Fried Plate, which was pretty good as someone who prefers a savory breakfast. I didn’t like the eggs so much, but the tots and gravy covered fried burger on toast I would do again!
Would give 4.5 stars if I could, so excited to have another vegan restaurant near the springs to enjoy!
Pros: All vegan , Cute atmosphere surrounded by mountains, Fun outdoor area when the weather is nice
Cons: Service was a little slow , Not a whole lot of indoor seating

Country skillet and black coffee was exactly what I was craving. 100% Vegan, and reasonably priced. If this place was in California it’d be at least twice as much

Get the cheese curds if you go. I highly suggest the cinnamon rolls as well. The staff is super friendly. You wouldn’t know it’s vegan unless you’re on happy cow. Yay for ‘tricking’ non vegans. Everyone should be vegan. Delicious food.

Many GF options/great menu - Edit
Our group ordered the Choke Le Bleu, Brunchwrap, Green Chili Soup. Frenchie’s Toast, Tots, and a GF Breakfast Burrito. The brunchwrap was a little disappointing, but the Breakfast Burrito was a hit and the Choke Le Bleu was delicious! Most things on the menu can be made gf. Dogs are allowed in the outdoor seating area.

Best pancakes ever!!! - Edit
Stopped into Fern’s for the first time. We tried the Cheese curds, classic cheeseburger, tomato bisque soup and pancakes. Everything was delicious but those pancakes were a show stopper. I also love the fact you can order breakfast all day. I will definitely be back to try their French toast! Service was phenomenal, she was super friendly and on top of everything. We absolutely loved the scenic views around as well!

I am traveling and knew this place was to open shortly before my visit. It’s fantastic, great energy and already getting a good crowd. Counter, booth and outdoor seating. My cocktail was great, and the tots are perfection. Took some green chili to go for the next day and it’s yummy-spicy.
