Happy it’s still all vegan! - Edit
With so many vegan places having to revert to vegetarian or add meat to stay open, it’s nice that Fern is doing well. Went there twice while in Victoria and everything we had was very tasty.

Was happy with the food and dessert from this cafe. I was wanting some sort of breakfast or brunch food, and fern didn’t disappoint. I love all the different food and dessert choices I had.

We got the Buffalo chicken burger, poutine, scone, and cinnamon bun. Poutine was basically just fries and gravy, but the rest of it was good! Would go back for the scones alone if I was nearby. Parking is difficult if you don’t get a spot in the dedicated lot.

The staff was very nice and helpful. There are a few gluten-free options but not many. We ordered the scramble with and without chorizo to make one gluten-free. The seasoning was OK and the portions were decent. We also ordered some gluten-free muffins, which were also decent. I wish that there were more gluten-free bakery items.

The staff were lovely. The food was okay. Not amazing. It was nice enough but we spent $25 on Ubers back and forth and it was not really worth it tbf. If you’re local to it I’d say yes it does the job. Nice food, large portions. Ask what is in the food as ours came with bits of red pepper I had to pick out.

Lovely little vegan cafe, within walking distance from downtown Victoria and the harbourfront. They have a variety of pastries and desserts, as well as an extensive breakfast and lunch menu. I enjoyed their honey mustard chicken burger - the "chicken" patty (which I believe was seitan-based) was hearty and filling and lathered in honey mustard sauce, and the side Caesar salad was a perfect pairing (for no surcharge). Their matcha latte was quite good too. There's a small outdoor patio facing a quiet street.

Had lunch at this lovely all vegan cafe!🔆｡°
I ordered the Big Bad Breakfast Sandwich,
which came burger style on a soft bun. 🍔 The tofu patty had such a comforting, gentle flavor, and it paired perfectly with the crispy, indulgent hash brown. The combination of ketchup and mayo was so good. 😋
I also tried the Lemon Blueberry Scone. 🍋🫐 It was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside, just the way I like my scones! It was a little sweet for my taste, but still delicious. 😋
The cafe itself was adorable with a nice greenery, and there was also a lovely outdoor patio. 🌿☀️ There were plenty of seats, so it felt really relaxing.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a delicious vegan spot in Victoria,BC! 🌱✨

Busy, enjoyable counter service cafe with delicious food and coffee drinks. Friendly staff, good vibes. Dining area can feel a bit small when an ordering line forms, but it dissipates quickly and spaciousness resumes. Of note, the dish bussing area intersects the food and drink pickup station and pathway to the washroom.

Seriously the best tofu scramble I’ve ever had; just the right amount of spice. Hardest part was walking past all the delicious donuts,scones and baked goods to order breakfast first. We got some sweet treats to go. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. They made special pancakes for the 2 yr old we were traveling with. I would eat there every day if I could. Will definitely go back next time we are in Victoria.

Fern has never disappointed with their baked goods. The cinnamon buns are a must try. They added doughnuts over the past couple years which have always been very good when I've tried them. The scones are another personal favourite. I have ordered a few items off the kitchen menu over the years and been pleasantly surprised but honestly I'm often going for the baked goods.
Read moreParking around the back is convenient when available, otherwise parking in the area is a pain to find. Location is small with a few tables inside that can fill quickly during busy hours. Staff is always pleasant.
If you follow their social media they sometimes post BOGO near the end of the day if they have treats leftover.

We tried the buttermilk pancakes and pancakes with fried chickun. The portions were large and we were all well stuffed after! They were delicious, fluffy and giant. The classic buttermilk pancakes came with a yummy compote and icing in addition to maple syrup. The chickn pancakes came with a great spiced maple syrup and the chickn was lovely and crispy! The staff were super friendly and welcoming too!

We visited Fern Cafe in the morning to get some delicious vegan breakfast. The pancakes were great and the portion sizes are huge. We also took some cinnamon buns home to enjoy later. Staff was super friendly and the café itself has a nice atmosphere.

Decent burgers - Edit
We got the chicken buffalo burger and chicken honey mustard burger, both with the Cesar salad. The salads were great! The burgers were good, but a little hard to eat. I think the chicken was too thick and a little too gummy maybe. Would love to try something else there.
