Felipe's
Serves meat, vegan options available. Fast service Mexican restaurant where staff makes your food while you watch and request toppings. Grills their own seasonal and local vegetables and will select and dice them for you. Makes two kinds of beans -black and pinto- both vegan. Salsa bar includes fresh salsa and pickled vegetables. Full bar. May 2015 reported guacamole is NOT vegan.

Decent Mexican food! - Edit
There isn't much to say except this place does decent mexican food! The beans are vegan so it's easy to construct vegan options (and the staff know what vegan means, which is a plus!). Very quick service and plenty of seating, it is what it is! :)

better than chipolte - Edit
This is a good location for easy vegan food. All beans are vegan. Tons of fresh toppings, guacamole, rice & corn sides.

Good food, decent value - Edit
Subway/Chipotle style restaurant with much better food. It used to have bargain prices, but that has changed in the last few years. Maybe it's just me, but I've also felt the quality has gone done a bit. Nevertheless, I still need my Felipe's fix occasionally and it rarely disappoints.
Pros: Good location, Decently priced food, Better than competitors
Cons: Smaller portions

Design-your-own burrito - Edit
Felipe's is open late, so that was a life saver for a hungry vegan out in the French Quarter. I like that you can see what they are putting in your burrito and c customize it so there are no mistakes, but they do tend to go VERY fast, so be clear with what you want ahead of time.

Fresh Mexican Food at a Great Price - Edit
This restaurant serves fresh burritos/tacos made to order (like Chipotle or Qdoba). They offer grilled veggies, and also beans and guacamole, in place of meat. Very reasonably priced and fast service.
Pros: excellent food, inexpensive, fast service
Cons: can be noisy (bar inside restaurant)

gave us what we needed, accomodating - Edit
Yes, their guacamole does havev sour cream in it but you can ask for avocado, mix it with their great pico de gallo and all is well. Vegans can eat here :-)
Pros: accomodating
Cons: not a lot of vegan options

Guacamole IS NOT VEGAN - Edit
I go to this place all the time and do like the food and service but have to fight to get plain avocados because they won't make their guacamole vegan and it's very frustrating!!! They always roll their eyes when I ask for avocados...think they're trying to stretch out their guacamole by adding sour cream, not very nice!! especially considering guacamole is traditionally VEGAN!! It's also very frustrating talking to the Mexican cooks as they don't understand English and their eyes just glaze over when they look at you....SO deal with the bartender only and you'll get by and DO ask for Vegan guacamole!!
Pros: fresh, service, cleanliness
Cons: non vegan guacamole, cooks that don't speak english, not accomodating customers the best

vegans for felipe's - Edit
I got a simple bean and veggie burrito -- delicious. The second I walked out the door I was daydreaming about returning the next day. The veggies were fresh and perfectly grilled. Instead of plopping the veggies in the tortilla, as if they are a side note, the preparer first selected large pieces of each type and sliced off the amount that was for my burrito :0). Also the guacamole was perfecto.
Pros: clean, nice tables, easy and quick
Cons: busy, tables fill quickly
