Great food and cool vibe

I really like this place - it's in an odd location, but the staff are friendly, the decor is cool, and the menu is large and interesting. I like everything I have had there, and they have a cheaper lunch menu option too. The manager even gave me free cake which was so nice!

The calzone was good but I think the carbonara and lasagne were better! Would go back for sure!

Edit: I went back and can further recommend the charcoal dough pizza and broccoli starter! Delicious!

Absolutely delicious vegan Italian

Fed by water is a little out-of-the-way if you are in central London but it is completely worth the trip to Hackney. I wanted to try everything on the menu but forced myself to settle for a single main course since the portion sizes I had heard were large. The Diavola pizza was delicious. Really enjoyed all of the creative re-creations of Italian meat toppings and the cheese was excellent. Had the tiraminut (tiramisu) for dessert, which was good but could have used a little more coffee flavor.

Two small criticisms: the service was friendly but on the whole quite inattentive. And, the pizza came to the table slightly less than piping hot.

Amazing Italian food!

Amazing food - we love to bring our omnivore friends and family here! Huge portions and really filling. Just waiting on a gluten free pizza base!! The carbonara is well recommended though. Definitely one for the list and worth travelling to if you haven’t yet been. Casual enough to hang here with friends but nice enough for a vegan date night!

Pros: Delicious food, Nice setting/atmosphere

Vegan Italian

I've been only once so far - I adore Italian food and have high expectations as my dad makes fantastic Italian food. Anyways, I really wanted to try the lasagna but it was sold out so I tried the carbonara - a dish I never even had before becoming veggie. Portions were big and the pasta dish was nice, although perhaps a bit heavy. I couldn't fit a dessert ;)
The restaurant has a nice, casual atmosphere but the tables are a bit too close IMHO. Still, I'm sure I'll be back sometime if I'm in the area.

The best Italian restaurant. Period.

Fed by Water is my favorite restaurant! I've tried a lot of dishes and every single one was delicious.
I've never been disappointed with any item on the menu.
They also change their menu regularly to bring new dishes!
The pizzas are amazing! Probably the best vegan pizza I've had.
They make amazing bread as well, paired with homemade spreads or cheese.
Portions are also very generous.

I always look forward to my next visit!

Pros: Delicious food, Generous portions, Did I say delicious food?

Cons: Small place so book in advance

Poor service, rude staff

I'd been looking foward to trying FBW for months now, and finally got the opportunity to go at the weekend. The food was, admittedly, amazing; I had pizza with the activated charcoal crust, and a berry 'cheese' cake for desert. It was pricey, but with large portions of delicious food. However, my friend and I waited for some time to have our orders taken, and for our plates to be taken away once we were done. We then waited even longer for someone to eventually ask us if we wanted dessert, and they then promptly disappeared and didn't return for another ten minutes or so. All of which would have been fine...if they hadn't then suddenly announced that we had to be out in five minutes because the table was booked for 19:30. Why leave us waiting around all that time, then tell us to get out as though we'd been deliberately lingering? On top of that, when our bill arrived, it had 4 additional items listed that we didn't order. It took us a further few minutes to attract someone's attention in order to fix it, and the waitress was then very abrupt with us as we sorted out payment, as though, once again, we'd deliberately taken too much time.

I understand this is a busy place to eat, but if the staff wanted us out in a timely manner they should have served us in a timely manner, and preferably politely.

While the food was everything I'd hoped it would be, the rude demeanour of the staff means I'm unsure whether I'd go again. I felt rushed and unwelcomed, and couldn't really fully enjoy the dessert after being told I had five minutes to eat it!

Tasty Italian Healthy Gourmet Vegan Delight

Family meal out at this fully vegan (since last year) Italian restaurant, with 2 vegans and 3 omnivores.

Thoroughly enjoyed the healthy gourmet food.

Between us we ordered olives, garlic bread and the raw plant based ‘cheese’ platter to start. For the mains, lasagne, carbonara pizza and the ‘degustazione di funghi’ mushroom tasting platter. The food was very flavoursome and the portions were generous. Takeaway boxes available.

Prices were mostly fair, although extra pizza toppings were pricey (going up to £2.50) along with alcohol.

Lovely staff, great service, nice atmosphere, really close to the tube station.

Toilet small and awkward.

Pros: Fully vegan , Great location, Delicious healthy gourmet food

Cons: Small/awkward toilet , Alcohol pricey, Additional pizza toppings pricey

Dissapointed

I was really excited to try this restaurant. Unfortunately the food did not impress me nor my friend who is also vegan. We had the cheese platter, the lasagna (my friend did enjoy that), the carbonara pasta with seitan was very bland for me - I honestly could have done a better job at home. We had raw carrot cake for dessert which had a horrible green sauce on top - i wouldn’t recommend it. The Interior was attractive and serene but the toilet was dodgy and had all the cleaning products inside (I really think this should have been removed). We also were not informed on arrival that the table was booked after and were asked to leave a few times (even when we had spent 100 pounds) for the new tables. I found this quite rude. I doubt I will come back with all the other choices to try in London

Pros: Calm Pretty Environment, Big Portions, Free water with meal

Cons: Food was not to a high stand, Staff pressuring us to settle bill , toilet

Good place for cocktails and desserts too

I went there with a friend in the evening to have a dessert and a cocktail as we were lusting after something sweet. I fulfilled my desire with a tiramisu and a cocktail, which I do not remember the name of, but both were very good. The blackness of the interior gives this place a stylish touch.

Pros: Friendly staff, Stylish interior

Cons: Nothing is organic.

my favourite place in the world

This is my to go place for any kind of meet up or event - I have lost count of how many times I have visited. I get on really well with the owner (Fabio) so I always feel really comfortable and welcomed. The food is amazing. They change the menu regularly and they stick to their Italian roots and I just love this place so so much.

Pros: good food, easy to find, amazing owner

Cons: can be expensive, but literally nothing else

Authentic quality Italian

Amazing plant based Italian that will win over anyone. A bit on the pricier side but you're getting high quality meals. Everything we have had tasted great. We've had the carbonara pasta, pesto pasta (both of these were on their old menu I think) broccoli cream pasta, pizzas. Can't miss this place!

Pros: flavour galore, fresh, authentic
