Delightful stay in forest surrounded by animals - Edit
This is truly a great little getaway. In this sanctuary, animals can roam freely and you’ll see them around while enjoying the beauty of this cabin. Melanie provided us a tour on the grounds and told us about the inspiring work she does.
Read moreThe cabin itself is very cozy and I would definitely recommend it. Do bring extra warm clothing though! It can be rather cold.
Would love to come back again.

Echt een aanrader! - Edit
Verstillen, afstand nemen en genieten van een houten hutje in je tijdelijk eigen stukje privé natuur tussen allerlei geredde dieren. Za-lig. Niet twijfelen, zeker doen! Top hosts!

beautiful and perfect - Edit
The location, cabin, and overall experience were beautiful, relaxing, and just what we needed to recharge our batteries and enjoy ourselves for a few days. The photos on the website, although really beautiful, don't do this place justice because they can't fully capture the peacefulness and coziness that pervades the whole area. Tobias and Melanie are excellent hosts, and provided us with everything we needed to have a wonderful stay, and more. I cannot recommend Feathery Forest highly enough!

Enchanting! - Edit
Feathery Forest is not just a cabin in the woods. It's a sensory experience that you'll love.
Read moreFirst, there is the forest with all kinds of rescued animals with their own personalities. Just seeing them in this setting made my heart sing and have my faith in humanity restored. The forest is different at any time of the year, with lots of light in winter, golden glow in autumn, lush cool green in spring and summer.
Then, there's the house. A beautiful cabin with a warm design that makes you feel at home right away. The big windows pull the forest feeling indoors, which I loved. Reliable wifi, all kitchen equipment you may need, warm wood stove and excellent beds. (I am usually not sleeping that well the first night in a 'strange' bed, but in this bed, I experienced some deep, restorative sleep.)
The owners/guardians were even so kind to put up a warning sign not to let down the roller shutter because a bat family was living there and I thought that was very thoughtful.
I can't wait to go back and discover more hiking trails in the area.
Pros: Peace & quiet, Very friendly owners , House cat Lolita cuddles

Cosy and quiet forest cabin among furry friends - Edit
Feathery forest is a cosy and quiet haven in the Flemish Ardennes, a beautiful region for hiking in the forest, among others. The beautiful cabin offers the perfect setting for unwinding and reconnecting with nature, and has all what you need for a pleasant stay. Its big windows bring the magic of the forest inside and the views on the surrounding forest are really breathtaking.
Read moreWe enjoyed the company of the rescue animals; watched the chickens pass by, the pigs searching for acorns, the dogs digging, and the house cat Lolita enjoying our cuddles. At night, we enjoyed sitting by the cosy wood stove. During the day, we did several refreshing hikes in the Muziekbos and Sint-Pietersbos, and in between we had some nice vegan meals in the city of Oudenaarde. Last but not least, we enjoyed the company of the friendly owners. We're happy to come back!
Pros: Magical cabin in a beautiful region, Quiet and silent, great for relaxing, Modern comfort in the midst of nature

THE place to stay - Edit
The cabin is amazing!
Read moreIt's very cosy, clean, quiet, and spacious. You're literally living in the woods (while still feeling completely safe). It's a perfect place for animal lovers. You're visited by the cutest cat and dogs and if you like they're happy to be invited in and snuggle up in front of the fireplace. The owners are really great people - very friendly, always helpful, and we really enjoyed the tour visiting the animals and learned a lot about chickens, pigs, turkeys, etc.
Feathery Forest is THE perfect place to relax, read a book, or go for a hike. (If you'd like to ride your bike, you have to be in rather good shape, as it's pretty hilly, or we recommend an e-bike.)
