Freaking good - Edit
Nice restaurant inside the market hall. There are 3 vegan ramen options (tofu, mushroom and cauliflower) as well as vegan baos and dumplings. As a student, you can get the Tofu ramen for 10€. There is also a deal with which you can get Ramen, a drink and a side piece for less money. You can choose if you want the Ramen spicy or not. The staff is really friendly and I liked the atmosphere as well as the food, would come again!

staff was distracted - Edit
The food was good but I had to ask several times before I actually received what I ordered. I asked to swich out a vegetable in the ramen and then somehow received ramen without any vegetables. They also forgot my tea...

Pretty tasty ramen and bao! - Edit
Lovely ramen bowls. A struggle to get looking at the menu. We both ordered two separate vegan options and couldn't work out which was which so swe just shared. Pints for €6 which is on the cheaper side of what we've had in Helsinki worth a visit especially if you are perusing the flea

Fat Ramen with Mushrooms - Edit
I had the Ramen with mushrooms and it was super delicious. It is not very cheap but absolutely worth it. I was filled after it. Would go there again.

Unusual ramen - Edit
I really liked the amount of vegan options of this place and the fact hat on Wednesday they have a discount for all the vegan options.
Read moreI got the fried cauliflower ramen which was good but the stock did not exactly taste as the ramen I am used to have.
I would like to go back to this place anyway and try the other vegan ramen options

Tasty but a bit salty ramen bowl - Edit
I ordered the mushroom vegan ramen bowl. They have three different vegan ramen bowls to choose from (tofu, mushroom and cauliflower). The broth was super creamy and tasty but a bit too salty for my taste. I also bought Japanese beer Asahi (also vegan) that goes well with ramen. We went to dine upstairs but the temperature there was really hot (even though it was a cool and rainy autumn day). And there was a sign not to open the windows because they could break. So prepare to dine in a sauna😄Also the music was kinda loud so it was hard to hear your friends speaking.

Really flavourful and decent serving. Food took 30 minutes because they were busy but they warned us before ordering, so was not an issue. Pumpkin ramen and mushroom ramen were fantastic.

Tofu ramen - Edit
Tofu ramen was ok. I felt like the soup would have benefited greatly from mushroom slices. There wasn't much to eat. A handful of noodles, some tofu, a few slices of celery and carrots. The broth tasted good.

Great mushroom taste - Edit
The first spoonful of the milky vegan broth was heavenly but in the end I couldn't finish it, it has an unusual taste. The soup was good, there was one big meaty piece of delicious mushroom, I hope I could have had more of it. I think 14 euros is a lot, but it is the usual price of dishes in Helsinki nowadays. Hietsu (Hietalahti) kauppahalli is cute. Notice that there is the second floor where you might find space to sit down.

Food & service not my cup of tea - Edit
Very lazy-casual service, like talking to a teenager who is forced to be nice to you but really could not care less. Not rude, but just didnt feel like a valued customer. Took Jalotofu ramen, the noodles had amazing texture but to my disappointment, broth lacked a bit taste and was overly salty.

Tasty Ramen, 3 vegan options! - Edit
Nice place directly in the market hall. There were 3 vegan Ramen options: Mushroom, Tofu an one with Cauliflower. I took the cauliflower ramen, side salad with silk tofu dressing. The ramen was very delicious as well as the salad. A great lunch option for decent price.

Great food in a warm and cosy town hall cum food hall. Street Gastro directly across which also has great vegan options, and you can order from both and share a table.

Delicious vegan ramen - Edit
Please note! Fat Ramen is DIRECTLY across from a butcher in the market hall. When ordering at the counter you stand right near the butcher and the stench can be overwhelming. I wish someone had written this in the reviews as I probably would not have gone had I'd known.
Read moreWith that said, vegan ramen is hard to come by in Australia so I was keen when I arrived in Helsinki. We were there at 5pm just after it opened on a Friday night and it was packed within 15 minutes so get in early! 3 vegan ramens on the menu all week long :) I got the cauliflower one and it was great! Afterwards we went to Kitty's for milkshakes (in the same market hall) and they were divine.
3 stars because not all vegan and because of the butcher across the way (I realise this isn't their fault and it's commendable they have vegan options but that's the way it goes I guess!)
Pros: 3 vegan options. In a lovely market hall
Cons: Butcher located directly opposite, not all vegan

Authentic yummy ramen in a nice renovated market hall. Three vegan dishes (at least in weekends): tofu, mushroom umami and cauliflower. You can have vegan milkshake for dessert at the same market hall, in Kitty's milkshake bar.
