Exquisite vegan restaurant - Edit

A small and cosy vegan place located in the old Riga center. The ofering is perhaps just a bit expensive, but it's definitely worth tasting. And the cake variety is amazing, not to mention ultra delicious.

Amazing brunch - Edit

We went in in a Sunday and had the brunch which is €17.50 per person (which we weren't told at the time). The vegan buffet was predominantly salads, little topped bread bits, dips, veg tempura and a few hot items in pots and you can go up as much as you like. Also included is pancakes, soup and a falafel wrap and either a smoothie or a glass of prosecco. A slice of their raw cakes is also included and was actually the first raw cake I've ever really liked. One of the servers spoke very good English and was very helpful.
Interestingly some tourists came in asking for eggs etc. and the server said we don't do eggs as this is a vegan cafe. The only item we came across that wasn't vegan was one of the cakes which the server told us was vegetarian without us asking.

Pros: Nice light restaurant , Great food, Good service

Cons: Slightly more expensive than others

Love it! - Edit

I really enjoyed the stay at fat pumpkin. The food was fresh. We both had a yummy burger, which my omnivore husband found to be amazing, too. Also we checked out some of their juices and smoothies, which had funny and originell names!
The staff was very friendly and the ambience cozy and modern.

Little restaurant in the city centre. Delicious food and innovative vegan dishes. A superlative experience. Good quality must be paid so do not be stingy and enjoy the food

Nice burger.. - Edit

I went there yesterday for dinner with my BF.

We ordered a berry smoothie and bottle of wine (organic spanish wine). Both great and enjoyable.

I had the falafel burger with fries which was really good.

My BF decided to try the plate with the cauliflower tempura. He was disappointed. It was ok, just ok.... He had only three tiny pieces of cauliflower (tempura) with smashed potatoes...
It was overpriced as he was still hungry after it.

14 euro to get smashed potatoes... And 10 to get a really good burger ! Don't do the same mistake :) Get a burger !!!

The service is friendly and the food came out quickly.

Pros: Burger, Friendly service, a lot of vegan option

Cons: Overpriced , Tempura cauliflower

Good food, be careful about the menu - Edit

Went to Fat Pumpkin tonight for dinner. I had the green tapas which were very good, and the avocado wrap which was enormous. The couple eating next to me was inquiring about gluten free options. Several of the items on the menu were labeled as GF but we're actually not. The waitress said the allergen information was sometimes incorrect. I was not thrilled by this information. Overall, the food was good, if not a bit overpriced.

Pros: Good location, Large portions

Cons: Allergen information incorrect, what else is misl , A little pricy

Try it!!! - Edit

This is, without a doubt, the best burger i have had in years. I had the Aloha, a chickpeapatty burger with a slice of pineapple grilled to perfection. I chose garlicmayo instead of the intended mustardmayo and added guacamole on the side. I dont mean to be rude, or presume to tell you what to do. But you really MUST try this burger. It is f****ng FANTASTIC!!!!!!
It was served with fries and mayo.
And the staff are really sweet.
An all-round beyond pleasant experience.

Great food for a treat! - Edit

This was great wee find. The place is quite relaxed, staff polite and our food arrived quite quickly.

The food was tasty - my husband had "Taste if Latvia" - the mushroom balls were so tasty! I can't remember the name of mine but it involved potatoes, tofu and a vegan hard cheese! So so good!

The food was reasonable price but perhaps slightly more expensive for Riga itself.

We only visited once but we really loved the food and would go again if visiting Riga. Highly recommend you don't miss this place if visiting Riga!

good place in the center - Edit

We both had the burger with potatoe wedges. It's good decent food, but if you walk a bit further, there are places that are more value for money in Riga. still good though if you are nearby and looking for a good place to eat.

Pros: good food, location

Cons: not the best value/money

Tasty food here - Edit

I really love the burgers and protein wrap was with fresh taste and lots of chickpeas. This is the only place I have been where I like raw cakes. Snickers cake and pina colada are my favorites. Ordered snickers for my birthday and guests ate it in a second and were asking for more.

Pros: Raw cakes are amazing, Good portions, Friendly stuff

Cons: Service sometimes is a bit slow

Good place for decent food - Edit

The Fat Pumpkin is a great destination if you are looking for a decent vegan burger at a good price. The food is not the best I've had, but it is a nice option close to the old town. They have salads, burgers, wraps, desserts and other stuff.

The food is very inconsistent (changes in menu/ingredients all the time), the service is pretty slow, and some of the staff don't even know what vegan means,

This place could be one of the best destinations in Riga, if they would improve their service and food.

Pros: Good prices, Great location, Good potato wedges

Cons: Not consistent, Slow service, Staff not very friendly

More an upscale experience - Edit

Fancy, stylish restaurant that provides mostly vegan sophisticated food.
I had the portobello burger that comes with (weirdly shaped) fries and vegan mayo. Although there seemed to be almost as much staff as guest, the waiting time was rather long. Yet, the burger was very good - fresh ingredients and tasted awesome.
I had a smoothie as well that was pretty good, too.
Prices are a bit high, but that's how it is.
Would have ordered a raw cake for dessert, but I was in a hurry and the service was rather slow.
Would like to try their pumpkin soup on another occasion.

Pros: good food, stylish decor

Cons: long waiting times

Really good humus and chickpea wrap, and chickpea burger with slightly spicy sauce both were 9-10€. We also got a snickers cake and a dark chocolate cake, both were raw and vegan, and the man did half slices each to make one full slice costing 8€, the dark chocolate cake was amazing!

I was really surprised to find such a nice vegan place right in the old town of Riga. The Smoothie was delicious and the Burger absolutely fabulous. Although the cakes were raw vegan, they tasted very good. The waiter were helpful, chatty ans nice (German and English speaking). I really recommend this place. Thumbs up!
