Okay but - Edit

We ate here twice in August, one week apart. First for lunch then for dinner. Yes, you can get Daiya but it is $4 extra. I know because I had to speak with the waitress about the surcharge. Also, if you want a GF vegan pizza, you have to do a make-your-own and it comes out to something like $25 for a not particularly huge pizza. But in Anchorage everything is expensive, so . . . They also have a kale and quinoa bowl, where the quinoa is more of a garnish that is sprinkled over the kale. There is a very limited selection of pasta. No spaghetti. The red sauce is delicious, but this is mainly a pizza place, and there are something like a dozen specialty pizzas, all sporting items like barbecued chicken, or sausage or reindeer (I made that up but you get the picture). There are veg items but they are the minority. My kids are vegetarian and not vegan and even they were less than thrilled on our second visit. The crust is tasty with the wood firing, and I was really glad we found it the first time when we were just off the plane and starving. But the second time, for dinner, with the huge price tag and limited offerings and not great service, it started to get on my nerves.

Daiya goodness FTW - Edit

They actually serve vegan cheese (daiya) as an option and it's no longer an additional charge. The vegetables are fresh and tasty. The crust, as stated by others, is vegan. My go-to vegan pizza place in Anchorage. Depending on your desired toppings, you can order a named pizza without the meat and substitute vegan cheese for a few bucks less than the build your own option.

Pros: Daiya cheese isn't extra, Good beer

Cons: Can get expensive

All you had to do was return my call - Edit

I'm visiting from ATL and I am dying for a vegan pizza... I call the fat ptarmigan to confirm if there vegan pizza has a vegan crust (ya'll know what I'm talking about...the finer details restaurants tend to neglect). Anyhow, a young lady in Aug. 15, 2014, approximately 7:15 pm, stated that she should check to ensure that the crust is vegan and took down my mobile number and she would contact me later... I thought that was a very nice gesture... Gee, guess what... She never called back... Sigh... Once again, a restaurant that has crummy customer service that has zero clue about their menu and inconsiderate... Won't be going there ever.
