Sloppy pizza - Edit
I ordered a vegan Margherita, as I always do, it's all my kids eat really. We've had vegan Margherita pizzas all over Australia and in New Zealand.
Read moreTho this was a first.
Vegan cheese is often known for its almost indestructible trait of never melting.
Not at fat badgers.
My pizza was so liquified my kid called it pizza soup.
It leaked out of the box and all over my top (takeaway).
Edit.
Fat badgers contacted me and instantly refunded the cost of my meal and apologised for the incident. The promise to look into it and make sure this doesn't happen again. They agreed the pizza should never have left the shop like that.

Good vegan options - Edit
Have eaten here three times since being in Q Town. Wish they have vegan meat options but the vegan cheese is tasty and the large is big enough to feed 3 people. Have tried: vegan princess (favourite), vegan la fiesta mexicana (2nd fav), vegan veggie, vegan fun guy, vegan poutine (ok), vegan cheesy garlic bread (really good, its another pizza).

Great Vegan Options - Edit
I went basic and had the Vegan Margherita and Cheesy Vegan Garlic Bread Pizza, did also order Vegan Poutine but unfortunately they were out of the Vegan Gravy, so we’re only able to provide chips & vegan cheese.
Read moreThe pizza’s were really good!
The chips were okay, but the vegan cheese wasn’t melted so it was a bit pointless without having the gravy for it. Would have loved to have tried their poutine! I would definitely go back and try one of their other vegan pizzzas and hopefully their Vegan Poutine if it is available next time.
Pros: Yummy Pizza
Cons: No Vegan Gravy available

Great tasting plentiful pizza - Edit
So good we went twice. Pizzas are large and toppings piled high. Was fairly quiet when we went, midday Sun and weekday early evening. Lots.of take away customers. Cheese is a good tasting, salty liquid type, really nice.

Huge pizza, Good Vegan options - Edit
Really big pizza. Perfect for sharing between 2.
Read moreWe got the Vegan Princess and Stuffed Mushrooms.
The mushrooms were decent but were small Portobello mushrooms with cheese on top.
Pizza was good with loads of toppings
On the pricier side for a pizza but used first table where you have to get 1 large and 2 drinks and all food is half price. Work out really well for an early dinner.
Pros: Pizza size, Amount of toppings on pizza
Cons: Stuffed mushrooms could have had more , On the pricier side.

It’s Big And It’s Cheesy - Edit
The massive vegan fun guy was perfect for a family of 4. Loved that I could fold it like a NY Slice to eat it instead of having uneven little squares. So yummy too. Considering everything in Q is super exy, it wasn’t too bad.

Fine but expensive - Edit
Agree with most other reviews, it's fine pizza, nothing particularly special but very expensive for what you get. I enjoyed the fun guy pizza and poutine but wouldn't go back for that price. To their credit, they do have a whole vegan menu which I really appreciate as at least you know you've got multiple solid options there.

A good option for all tastes - Edit
A very popular bar with kitchen which served a purpose for a slightly later than anticipated meal. We shared a medium Vegan Princess (Mushrooms, Spinach and Sundried Tomatoes topped with Vegan Mozzarella and Garlic Oil) which was decent and at 12”, more than sufficient in size especially as we also shared the gravy rich vegan poutine. Washed down with a hazy IPA this was a good shout for a late feed that everyone enjoyed and if you’re really hungry they do all pizzas on a 20” base.

Hit the spot - Edit
They have a healthy amount of vegan options! The pizza is nothing crazy, but if you’re wanting pizza in NZ, this hits the spot for sure! They also have gluten free pizza!

We only tried the margarita pizza, which was really nice, so I’m keen to come back and try more
Read moreEdit April 2024 - I’ve since returned an tried the hot sauce pizza (I don’t recommend unless you absolutely love hot sauce as that’s all you’ll taste). Tried again this month but pizza is now $35 for a medium and $60 for a large, no cider on tap, way too expensive now

OK - not great - Edit
Toppings are very sparse, same with the sauce. Great they have vegan options but it's really over priced, even for Queenstown. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about vegan and celiac requirements.

It's OK but overpriced - Edit
I appreciate the amount of vegan options, however they're just... Meh. Not bad. Not worth the price! The mushroom pizza was 37 dollars I think? Sounded amazing with a "medley" of mushrooms on it..... But it was just a sprinkle of plain mushrooms.. The vegan cheese they use melted to liquid on the pizza, and not at all on the chips. They didn't give enough gravy on the poutine. I don't really recommend unless you're desperate or your non-vegan friends really want to go at least you have options.

Great 'Za, but expensive - Edit
This would be an instant 4-star, with the big vegan selection for both pizzas and sides, cheese quality, and vibes, but the expense holds it back. Seriously, $30 for a regularly-sized 'za? Are you jerkin my gherkin? The huge pizzas are $50-60, which have a certain novelty to them, but there's no reason a regular pizza needs to be that costly.

Pretty good, busy place - Edit
Separate vegan section on the menu, lots of options. I got the vegan veggie and my partner got the vegan Princess. Both tasty pizzas, the medium pizza size is a bit small but that is the only option for the gluten free base. The toppings were only light so the pizza wasn’t awfully filling. Otherwise I enjoyed it. We had Winnie’s pizza the night before which was incredible and unfortunately Fat Badger’s doesn’t compare, plus Fat Badger’s is more expensive.

Good, but not great - Edit
We ordered a vegan margherita pizza and poutine for 2 to share, which was enough but only just. We ordered on ubereats and it was ridiculously expensive for what it was. The chips on the poutine were a bit undercooked and it was a bit bland too.

Yummy - Edit
Nice to have a dedicated vegan menu. You can get two flavours on one pizza. The vegan poutine was a bit bland and homogeneous, I think plain fries would be nice. One medium pizza to share is a good size for two people.
