Warning: Veg pho broth isn’t vegan

We went here because we saw it listed on Happy Cow. However, their vegetable pho broth is chicken broth; they do not have a vegetarian/vegan pho at all.

One waitress was unable to help us with our request for vegan items, but she sent another waitress over. She was sweet, but I wasn’t convinced that she was fully knowledgeable about veganism, as she suggested the veg sandwich, which comes with mayo. We told her that we don’t eat mayo, and she said they could leave it off, but honestly, I didn’t want to risk it, and I wasn’t convinced the bread was vegan, anyway.

Supposedly, the fried tofu appetizer is vegan, and the vermicelli can be made vegan by leaving the fish sauce off, but those are the only possibly vegan options, aside from plain steamed rice. We won’t be going back.
