Some vegan options, but very long wait

We went here on Sunday, in the late afternoon and had to wait an hour for our food. The Sunday roast with spinach tarte was only allright. The vegan version is served without the Yorkshire pudding but for the same price.

Spinach tarte Sunday roast: it doesn’t have a lot of flavour, so you really need the gravy. The tarte also doesn’t have a decent protein source. Hopefully, the sausage is bette at Famous Old Spa in Weymouth

Sunday menu Sept 2026. 2 vegan options for Sunday roast: spinach tarte and meatless sausages. They do omit the Yorkshire pudding though, without a replacement or discount at Famous Old Spa in Weymouth

Limited vegan options. Poor execution

I ordered the vegan nachos and onion rings. The nachos did not include any dairy free cheese or sour cream, just guacamole and salsa and was very small. The onion rings were soggy.

The nachos were £4.25 and the 6 small onion rings £2.25.

Really poor.

Nice

Had a lovely meal, everything is reasonably priced and lots of vegan options (mains and at least 3 vegan desserts) and everything is labelled clearly.

Pros: Fair priced, Lots of choice

Cons: Standard marstons pub

Staff need training

In the area for one night and had seen the vegan menu on the website so thought I'd check it out. Couldn't see it on arrival so asked at the bar and was offered the gluten free menu with the words "that means you can't eat gluten right". Explained it meant I didn't eat animal products and he said "it's to hard to keep up with all these things".

Turns out the menu I had seen online isn't released until the end of the month, let's hope they train their staff before then because it looks fab
