a lovely time - Edit

The description here says they serve "vegan pastries". I think it would be more accurate to say "vegan baked goods". They had three types of sliced vegan bread (like zucchini or something), three types of vegan cupcakes and two types of vegan cookies. I got the toasted pecan cupcake. Holy sugar, I could feel the cavities developing with each bite. It was good, though.

The atmosphere is very friendly and you can sit for hours without being bothered or feeling like you're being a bother. I sat at a large table and others came and went, sharing the space and chatting here and there. It was a pleasant time and I can see why locals convene here.

Pros: can sit for hours, next to bus 91 bus stop, frequented by friendly folks

Cons: not much to eat, small

What A Treat! - Edit

My boyfriend and I walked in and asked what was vegan. That day they had cupcakes, cookies, miso soup, and dirty rice - we took one of everything :) The cupcakes were pumpkin chocolate & strawberry. The cookies were oatmeal raisin & gingersnap. The sweets were all great - to the eye and the palate! The dirty rice was super good, but the miso soup was a bit difficult. The seaweed, mushrooms and tofu were all in very large pieces - I felt like I needed a knife, but it was decent. All in all this place is amazing. We will definitely come back if in town again!

Pros: Cookies, Cupcakes, Dirty Rice

Great Coffeehouse - Edit

Situated in beautiful mid-city New Orleans, this conveniently located coffeeshop offers vegan pasta salad and AMAZING vegan cookies. Nice staff. Lots of places to sit outside. I havent tried the pasta salad yet, but i am a huge fan of the cookies. once i went to get cookies, and they were sold out- which was a bummer! hopefully that wont happen again. It is a popular place for locals to hang out, for people to do computer stuff, and for students study, so it can get really crowded inside.

Pros: great coffee, vegan cookies

Cons: can get crowded inside

Good for a snack - Edit

There really isn't an extensive menu here- it's more of a coffee shop (a very cozy and quintessential New Orleans coffee shop at that). The pastries are fantastic and the environment is relaxed. It's definitely one of my favorite local places. CASH ONLY!
