Vegan fast food - Edit
At first glance, you’d never guess this is a vegan burger spot!🍔 It has a classic old school American vibe, and the interior is so cute.🤎
Read moreBurger sets come with fries and a drink, but you can upgrade to a shake.🥤 I chose the nugget burger and the THE WINTER WARMER shake.⛄️ The nuggets in the nugget burger weren’t greasy at all, and both the flavor and texture were amazing!
Honestly, I liked them even more than the patty.😍 THE WINTER WARMER tasted just like a gingerbread cookie and was absolutely perfect for me!🍪🤍
It’d been a while since I had fast food, and this hit the spot!🫶
Highly recommend!💫

A memory jolt! - Edit
I didn’t know that as a vegan I actually missed the tastes, textures and the slick efficiency of a couple of very famous burger joints. This place nails it! From decor to its intentionally limited menu (totally vegan burgers, fries, nuggets, and shakes), Face Plant evokes decades of memories. If you’re hungry for a good ol’ burger joint, this is the place. It even has a drive-up!

Amazing burger - Edit
I was expecting this to be the standard pretty good impossible burger. It’s not. The homemade patty is incredible. Also, perfect fries and milkshake. 10/10.

I am so excited about Face Plant! - Edit
I love the simple menu and it just warms my soul to have an affordable, drive-thru, all vegan restaurant. It is really delicious and the atmosphere is super fun. I could go for some more side sauce options, but I’m a sauce queen.

Delicious Fast Food - Edit
I’ve been here twice now, I think the Red & Yellow is the way to go over the Fancy, closer to McDonalds than the Fancy is to In-N-Out. Burgers are solid, but not the best I’ve had. Fries are also really solid, but not necessarily better than normal vegan fries at a non-vegan restaurant. Made a trip down from Vancouver to get it, and probably not worth it for that over going to Burgerville a few minutes away. But would happily get it if I was in the neighborhood. Going to try the shake and nuggets next time!

Fantastic Addition To Portland - Edit
With the recent opening of Face Plant, Portlanders can now say that they have a high-value, low-cost, and delicious vegan fast food option with a drive through.
Read moreMarketing themselves as a direct competitor to McDonalds and vegan fast food chains such as Mr. Charlie’s, Face Plant has done an outstanding job of reaching price parity with meat options.
The fries are golden, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. The Red and Yellow burger, made with an Impossible base, bursts with flavor and is nicely presented. At $7.48 for a burger and fries Face Plant offers arguably the best value vegan food in Portland.
Staff are friendly and there is drive through at which staff come to your window and take your order with a tablet. My order was ready within around 5 minutes. Plenty of parking is available for indoor diners.
I recommend checking this place out and look forward to the vegan shakes coming soon. One recommendation would be to add a healthier option such as a salad with chopped up nuggets and dressing.
*Update: The shakes are great. My favorite is the strawberry. The dining area could use more frequent cleaning.

Disappointed, low quality ingredients - Edit
Bun had no integrity, couldn’t stand up to the bland special sauce, meat taste was missing entirely, very thin patty, tomato, no taste. Fries were good. Only drinks offered were corn syrup laden sodas, YUCK! The nuggets were deplorable, texture was wrong & overall the restaurant had a funny smell. Sorry, wanted to love it!

Suggestion - Edit
I was really stoked about this place — the vibe, the menu, all of it — but I was pretty bummed to find out they use Impossible products rather than Beyond or another fully vegan option. I don't know if they are aware but Impossible is plant-based not vegan. And that's by the Vegan Society’s definition. It's key ingredient, soy leghemoglobin (SLH), went through animal testing to get FDA approval. That means they literally vivisected animals in order to test an ingredient for a burger. Beyond Meat makes a super similar product without SLH and has never been animal tested. Would be pretty sweet to see a swap so everyone — plant-based and vegan — can eat there. They would probably sell more burgers... just saying...

Vegan means less harm it cannot nor will ever mean zero harm. Pop a Tylenol and claim your a vegan. Those bicycle tires and chain lube are not even close to your definition of "vegan". I'll debate you all day you demcuck lib.

Thx for that heads up! Was very disappointed, actually. Ingredients seemed low quality ie the buns disintegrated, couldn’t even get a burger taste, hated the special sauce, fries were good, nuggets were deplorable. Would much rather eat Gardein & Hero buns at home

Minimalist menu, which is just fine with me. When all you want is a vegan burger and fries, this is THE place! Crisp lettuce, tasty cheeze, and perfect fries. Easy access to I-5.

So Good - Edit
There were a million vegan spots we wanted to hit while in Portland and we ended up coming back here a second time because we enjoyed it so much. We actually ordered different stuff the second time and enjoyed it even more. We came and ordered inside the first time and all got the Double Fancy with fries. The fancy was good but by the end the meat was getting to us. The fries were good but they had a strong vinegar flavor. I didn’t really mind it but not sure why they wouldn’t stick to regular fries. The next day we went through the drive through and ordered the chicken nuggets, the fancy, and the red & yellow. The chicken nuggets were delicious and were salted to bring out the flavor. They came with a honey mustard type sauce that was delicious. The red and yellow was so good and really had the traditional McDonalds flavor. We skipped the fries and got a chocolate and strawberry shake instead. The chocolate shake was reminiscent of a frosty, and the strawberry was like a friendlys strawberry fribble (idk if friendlys exists on the west coast but it’s an east coast chain like Applebees but mostly for kids). Anyway, the shakes were delicious. Everything was so good and we can’t wait to return next time we’re in Portland.

Face Plant-Based Food - Edit
The Double Red & Yellow burger included two patties, cheese, ketchup, mustard, and pickles on a bun. It had too much ketchup and mustard for my preference, but it was still pretty good. The fries were crispy and salty. They were served with two little cups of ketchup. That was convenient, but I think it would be better to have a ketchup pump out so people can choose how much they want, if at all. The chocolate shake had a good flavor and consistency, but it started to melt quickly. It was served in a single-use plastic cup, and they wouldn't even let me order it without a lid and straw. Overall, I enjoyed the meal, but I probably won't return unless I'm nearby.

Yum, junk food! - Edit
Simple menu with your classic fast food options. Got a burger, fries, and tendies. The burger reminded me of the classic from a familiar chain. The fries were more typical but good. The tendies were yum and come with some kind of mustard dipping sauce. They were all out of shakes, ugh! I could not complete the experience, though I did have a root beer. Decently priced for a novel experience. Will definitely go back!

Make your Childhood Vegan - Edit
Everyone: You can't make a classic american fast food joint vegan!
Read moreFace Plant: Bet.
Joint was 90% full of customers; ya love to see that at a vegan spot! NUGGETS AND SAUCE FOREVER!! 🤤 The sauce is like a more flavorful hunny mustard. Burgers taste like McDonald's from your childhood. They've mastered the art of making vegan fast food! Simple menu just like your In-and-Outs with no substitutions; they're confident in what they do and they should be! Milkshakes "coming soon" as of this posting.
And if ya have kiddos, there are crayons and paper to keep them occupied. 🖍️Parking lot is huge and it's easy to eat in the car if the restaurant is full. Staff is kind, helpful, and friendly; food is just as quick as any burger joint. Willing to bet most patrons don't know or don't care that it's all vegan, the way things should be 😋

Worth it! - Edit
The NUGGETS and SAUCE are delicious. The burger is very good, but there are lots of good vegan burgers around town. I feel the price point is pretty good too. Haven’t tried the shakes, and we asked about them adding breakfast - they said hopefully in the future! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 Their menu is very small but all the items are great.

Great fast food, just happens to be vegan! - Edit
Stopped in for a burger and fries last week and pleasantly surprised. I’m picky about fries but theirs were very good. And you can get a side of their special sauce for dipping. I had the Fancy double burger and enjoyed it. Next time I’ll ask for extra pickles but otherwise a very good, not “fake” tasting veggie burger. Will definitely go again.
