OK stop for a quick bite only

On our visit two of the soups were vegan-nice for a cool, winery day. The pre made to go bowls of salads and bowls-they didn’t look appealing (especially after experiencing Rawdish’s options). Hubby got a smoothie-these are fresh made and he enjoyed it.

Easy quick and tasty

I really can’t give more than 3 stars as the food here was a little inconsistent, expensive, and not hugely expansive when it comes to vegan choices… but having said that, a very good place to grab a quick bite if you don’t have long for a lunch break in the city centre.

The summer rolls were well filled but a little tough, and the vegan baguette was filling and well spiced.

Quick and good seating

A bit expensive and not that many options. But its a nice place to grab some okay-good food and its quick. …also great if all other breakfast options seem to be closed due to vacation.
Later during the day, when I came back, there was barely anything left. And they didn’t have any vegan sandwiches today
Inside seating is pretty good too.

Vegan bowls

We had two vegan bowls to take away. They were both good.

Pros: Centrally located, Healthy bowls

Cons: Not many vegan options, A bit expensive

Good sandwiches

Exki ist always a good choice if you're short on time and need to grab a quick sandwich, or soup to go.

I've always liked their products and staff are usually friendly.
If only they had a few more vegan options.

Expensive and no proper recycling

As a Belgian chain, I really expected it to be much cheaper, but it is not. Everything is indeed clearly labelled, which is a plus, but the choice isn’t vast. And they don’t recycle properly, which is a joke considering how they sell themselves.

Not too bad, not great either

Everything is clearly labeled which is convenient. There are 2 vegan sandwiches but they are half the size of the others. Some options for salads as well though. If you buy the fruit (with stuff) in a cup they can blend it for you so you can drink it (through a paper straw!). I don't exactly remember which they have but I got pineapple with coconut milk.
They have this thing with a green card that encourages you to be sustainable (bringing own cutlery and bag for example) which is nice if you would go there more often I guess. But then again they shouldn't be selling meat if they really want to be sustainable of course. For a place that sells non-vegan stuff it's not too bad.
Price is according to the norm I'd say.

Pros: Clear labels

Cons: Vegan options end up more expensive

Finally Vegan Options

Exki has been open for a while and I was always surprised they did not offer plant based milk or Vegan options. Over the last year or so this has been remedied and there are Vegan and GF options on the menu. It is still quite limited with 2 sandwiches, a couple of salads and a hot dish, but the food is very tasty. Good alternative if you don't just fancy a sandwich. In summer there smoothies are a 'MUST' try.

Pros: Gluten Free Options, Vegan Options, Quick service

Limited but tasty

There isn't an abundance of vegan options but with some careful reading you'll easily find a few things because all ingredients are listed. Most, if not all, desserts and pastries contained dairy or eggs.

I usually go for a soup, lombok salad and one of the fresh smoothies but because the vegan-friendly options tend to be on the smaller sizes, putting together a couple of things eventually adds up quite a bit.

Pros: Plenty of seating space

Cons: Limited choice, Small vegan portions
