Kitchen closes at 2pm - Edit

Even though opening hours state that it's open until 4pm, the kitchen closes at 2pm. We were offered offered food from the counter eg. Sandwiches, wraps. We didn't eat though, just wanted to let people know if you're headed here be sure to come before 2pm!

Cons: kitchen closes at 2pm

Charming, ecclectic - Edit

One of the areas for eating at EBTKS (as they call themselves) is dubbed 'The Garage'. This is not a cute nickname; it's a repurposed garage. Inside the garage is a very deep couch and a coffee table. There's a dreamcatcher opposite a VW Bug advertisement, above a 'take a book, leave a book' reading library.

Some places strive for an aesthetic. EBTKS feels lived, by comparison. Every piece of decor feels biographical, feels like an extension of the café's proprietors. It is the definition of eclectic. The end result is a very relaxing and welcoming environment; you feel you are being let into someone's home. And the service complements the atmosphere nicely. Staff are incredibly friendly and chatty; again, it feels welcoming and warm.

None of this would matter if the food weren't also good, and it is. While I arrived late and there was little left, the veggie roll I had was excellent. (Be sure to have it with the chilli jam if you can at all stomach spice; it makes the roll pop.) Vegan cupcakes are available and were rich and buttery in consistency. Coffee was strong and more than acceptable.

Overall, this is a lovely little place, aimed towards breakfasts and brunches. It has the feel of a local secret, blending perfectly into its suburban residential locale. It's not designed to surprise or startle, but rather to comfort. It stands still, in the best of ways. Recommended for lazy Sunday brunches and (if you're lucky enough to live/work in the area) enlivening breakfasts to welcome the day with a smile.

(Side note: Has a pretty nice little vegan grocery shelf too.)

Pros: Fantastic service and authentic atmosphere, Tasty food, Four vegan milks for coffee!

Cons: Vegan lunch menu could be broader
