I thoroughly enjoyed everything about Eve Olive. The food was delicious, the service excellent and the island/BC wine list was great too. I went with a vegetarian and an omnivore and we all left happy. We started with the oyster mushroom kalamari which was some of the best I’ve had of this item which has become a vegan menu regular. Somehow it had the ocean tang of seafood. Yum. I had the sweet potato ravioli which was fresh and so good. The sauce was so tasty we used bread to get it up off our plates. The omnivore in our group had the pulled pork style mushrooms burger and really enjoyed it. We topped off our meal with the chocolate cake which was really good too. Would go back for sure.

Nanaimo's best Vegan eats - Edit
Food: Fantastic! Mushroom Calamari, Stuffed mushrooms, curry, alfredo pasta, chocolate cake, Nanaimo bar were all top notch food. Portion size seemed to vary between dishes.

Venue: nifty little wood building with a cool and cozy atmosphere. Something I don't comment on ever but the washrooms were really nice! Has a patio that allows pets.
Price: we went on date night Wednesday which helped with the price ($30 each) but it could get fairly expensive on a regular evening, however the quality of the food is easily on par with restaurants in the same price range. So it is worth it!

I had the ravioli with the cashew sauce as a substitute. It was really good as well as the cauliflower bites. My partner had the bruschetta but unfortunately the bread was not toasted and it seemed to just be big chunks of vegetables on top of a piece of bread. The cheese was not melted either. He said it was still ok but definitely not a bruschetta. The food was still quite good.

Every time the wife and I have came here we have never been disappointed. The service is amazing, all of the menu options are delicious and fully vegan. Definitely check it out! Also there desert changes monthly. Last time I went it was a Reese’s peanut butter cup

It is a very small space but still comfy. We made a reservation by calling in. The server was so lovely and very informative. Always checked how the food was or if we needed anything. The food is a bit pricey but it is beyond delicious. A very good treat! Best dishes we tasted mushroom Kalamari, Thai curry and the pizza! Overall a wonderful dinner for my partner and I.

So happy to find a fully vegan restaurant in Nanaimo. It also happened to be one of the best restaurants we have ever been to in the world! We would consider travelling to Nanaimo just to eat here it is that good. Everything on the menu sounded delicious but we didn’t want to be pigs and settled on the cauliflower starters, Greek goddess plate mains, and the lemon tart and chocolate cake for dessert. All the food was on point and the waitress was super nice as well

On a recent visit to Vancouver Island we tried several vegan restaurants, this was my favourite. We got take out sice there were no outside tables available and tried several different dishes. They were all amazing. Buffalo cauliflower was great, huge chunks of cauliflower. So nice to be able to pick anything from the menu. The only negative I can say is that referring to some of the items using meat-ish names makes it a little hard to want to eat them. The oyster mushroom calamari for example. Calling them battered oyster mushrooms would have made them sound more appetizing to us, but perhaps we are unique with this opinion.

This is a really nice spot and the patio had very pleasant breeze on a summer evening. Everything on the menu sounded so good and it was hard to decide what to order while trying to leave room for dessert! Especially enjoyed the ravioli.

Having dined at vegan restaurants around the world in my travels, Eve Olive easily sits in my top 3 best. DELICIOUS!! We really enjoyed everything we ordered: oyster mushroom kalamari (so, so good!), crispy beer BBQ cauliflower bites, greek goddess plate, the decedent lemon tart pie (DELICIOUS!) and the salted caramel ice cream. The restaurant is warm and cozy inside and the service was excellent. Very friendly staff. They have impressive COVID protocols in place for a very sanitary and safe dining out HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I had such a wonderful evening at Eve Olive! The food was absolutely divine! I had the goddess plate followed by the lemon desert (which was like one of the best things I’ve eaten aha) as well as a White Russian which again, was absolutely out of this world! The owner and the staff were also delightful😄I can’t wait to return!

We visited on Aug 20, 2020. We opted for tapas so we could try the numerous vegan dishes and we weren’t disappointed! We had the Tom Yum soup, coconut curry with pineapple, yam ravioli and cashew cream curry. We shared desserts too- the lemon tart and the lime cheesecake. All were delish.

Two Years on and Still a Gem - Edit
We happened upon this place the last time we were in Nanaimo, which happened to a few months after they opened. Tonight we had the opportunity to dine there on the eve of their two year anniversary.
Read moreI was apprehensive, wondering if it would live up to the very fond memories that my wife and I had of the place. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. So many great choices, with something for everyone. The option of tapas or entrees means you can fill up on one thing, or sample many.
We went the shared tapas route and enjoyed a great meal. #vegannanaimo get out and support this place.

A cozy, intimate restaurant with a fully vegan menu. Creative, delicious dishes utilizing house-made ingredients. I highly recommend the oyster mushroom "calamari." Bar with local beer on tap. Staff is gracious and attentive. Support local business!! Reservations recommended.

A wonderful spot if you’re looking for a nicer vegan meal out that’s beyond the usual comfort food. Our favourite was the sweet potato ravioli with nutmeg. Creamy and full of flavour. Would definitely return for another meal next time in Nanaimo.
