SO GOOD!!! - Edit

I’ve been here a couple times and amazing! For breakfast I ate a parfait that was amazing. They make their own coconut yogurt for it. For dinner I ate the spaghetti squash basil bowl- dynamite intense basil flavors! All their desserts are gf. Had their ‘Caramel’ which was dates, coconut, and chocolate- yum!!!!

EVE Encinitas - Edit

I decided to visit EVE Encinitas while travelling solo through Southern California. I am so glad I did!

The service was beyond friendly; I didn't really feel like I was eating alone. More than one staff member was very helpful choosing what to eat, and giving me the prettiest slices so that I could take photos.
I had weird, specific "Food Goals" while travelling. I wanted to try Jackfruit. Since the most recommended dish didn't come with it, the staff helped me choose a dinner bowl that would go nicely with added Jackfruit.

I ordered the Havana Affair Buddha Bowl, with Jackfruit. This bowl also came with cooked Plaintains, another mini "goal" of mine to eat. The bowl was amazing! Absolutely unique and warm while still very fresh. For dessert, I was recommended the Espresso Cheesecake - no objections. I added a Coconut Lemon Ball, just because I was drawn to it. It was alright, but nothing spectacular. The cheesecake was perfect; just hovering the border of "too sweet", and in a perfect size to enjoy the whole thing.

The restaurant is beautiful and earthy; I loved the wall of "vines" - I wish the table next to it had been available! The staff asked me often how things tasted, and a random local even shared a slice of her pizza with me when I ogled at it.

Finally, for Liking and Following the restaurant's Instagram and Facebook pages, I got $2 off my order! Can't beat that! I'd definitely return to EVE to try their breakfast items, and to support such a wonderful place.

Pros: Food, Friendly Staff/Service, Atmosphere and Location

Part great, part not - Edit

I had one of the bowl options. Lots of vegetables and salad all mixing together with a delicious sauce. Very happy with that and $12 is reasonable-ish. I found it quite satisfying too in terms of quantity. My wife didn't fancy any of the bowl options and in that respect the food is relatively limited in scope. She opted for a smoothie which was very nice, but at $13 for quite a small container is very steep. I ordered a square of cheesecake and it was ok. Nothing to go crazy about. There was no price I could see so I think it was about $6 and I would've expected a much larger piece for that price.

Pros: All vegan. Delicious bowl dishes.

Cons: If you don't like bowls of stuff, you won't find m

Disappointed: too pricey for the small portions and lack of seating - Edit

My fiancé and I were excited to try out EVE, and arrived slightly post-dinnertime seeking to avoid any sort of rush (this was a few months ago) but it wasn't what we thought it would be and kind of wish we hadn't gone at all--aside from the fact that now we know not to go.

Entering, I was immediately greeted by the impression of a university coffee-shop-and-lounge: mismatched and chaotic seating arrangements obviously meant to look kitschy-cute lent a greater hand to feeling more like one of your boho-chic friend's apartments and less like a restaurant. Not to mention there were maybe eight seated patrons in house and it felt super crowded. All the (three?) tables were taken, save the two tiny ones outside--but we didn't mind that so much as we had wanted outdoor seating anyway. I was more concerned about the line (where would the people in front of us sit?) and the angry man at the front who was harassing the women working the register.

They were apparently distressed by this jerk, who was hounding them about having supposedly overcharged him on his large and complex bill. He was up there haranguing them for several minutes. They maintained a polite and cool composure, trying carefully to explain that the prices were correct and they had charged him appropriately. (It sounded like the guy just wanted to abuse a discount out of them.) At one point he insulted them outright and left quickly after, still unhappy and muttering under his breath all the way. The young women remained flustered and obviously upset for a while after--totally understandable, I felt so badly for them--but put huge smiles back on and were absolutely friendly and welcoming to the next person in line.

We had plenty of time to decide what we wanted, so by the time we were asked for our order we were ready--albeit a little nervous and surprised about how expensive everything was. But we figured if there was a line and it was busy close to 8:00 PM and their prices were what they were, it's probably good. We had settled on a $12 plate of jackfruit tacos, thinking we could split it and probably be satisfied as jackfruit tends to sneak up on you.

We got confused by the drink system; having opted for water we were told to use the water jug and cups provided. The cups were towards the end of the counter, away from the register, but the water jug was right next to the register. This required that you basically stand very near to whomever is at the register, ordering, which feels awkward a

My second visit was around 8pm and I was gonna order the jackfruit tacos again but they ran out of jackfruit!!:( so I tried the Havana Affair bowl and I'm so glad I did because it was amazinggggg everything complimented each other in this bowl
The place itself is super hipster and laid back

Delicious breakfast or lunch - Edit

We came to this cafe three times in our weekend trip to Encinitas. Their jackfruit tacos are tart, complex, and satisfying. The kale pesto bowl was also flavorful. For breakfast we had a yummy coconut yoghurt parfait and acai bowl. The interior is pleasant with couches and comfy chairs, and perfect for reading our hanging out. Mesmerizing nature footage on a big screen. Thriving plant wall. Thoroughly recommended!

Vegan Creativity! - Edit

My wife and I dined here for the first time on Saturday evening with another vegan couple. We were all impressed with the creatively-styled and vibrantly-colored food, which was elegantly served on earthy wooden platters and bowls. Everything, including the friendly service, exuded good taste and health. We look forward to our next visit!
