Flavorful with plenty of delicious options - Edit
Ethio Beans has clearly labeled vegan options that can be tried as a combo, or as individual dishes. The coffee service is great, and the portions are generous. The veggie combo can feed two people. The food is delicious and not overly salty. The lentil sambussas are delicious, and our favorites were the misir wot and alicha wot, but everything is excellent.

Unique cuisine! - Edit
All dishes are served with a huge teff flour bread. The food is very tasty, but traditionally you are expected to eat with your hands. Silverware is available upon request.

Delicious and plentiful options - Edit
Great, clearly marked vegan section of the menu. Food was excellent! I got the veggie combo which was a massive amount of food for $15- easily 2 meals. Very authentic and delicious.

This place is a restaraunt with lots of seating. They serve a vegan combo platwr that is delicious! you can also get the individual sides to order as well. The staff was so friendly. Great value for the amount of food you get.

Small ethnic grocery/supplies store with food counter - get the vegetarian plate - Edit
This is basically a grocery/"stuff from home" small ethnic business with a coffee / food counter and small eating area. They also have a selection of jewelry and embroidered clothing, and you can pick up coffee beans (whole or ground, roasted on premises) in addition to Ethiopian groceries, such as teff flour. Staff was super nice.
Read moreIt was great to find delicious Ethiopian food without having to drive into Chicago. Options are somewhat limited, however they have a vegetarian plate.
The lentil curry was delicious and I liked the cabbage (not usually a fan). The injer (powdered broad beans or chickpeas in a spicy tomato sauce - the only other veg item on the menu besides the veggie combo) is also worthy of note.
Pros: Shop while you wait for your food, Tasty!
Cons: limited options
