Vegans be warned - Edit

I had to make an account just to warn vegans and other dairy free eaters. On the menu, there are things listed as vegan--I got the saffron rice but when we tasted what seemed to be butter in it, we double checked with the waiter who said "It's vegan but has butter" we asked if it was vegan butter but got a no. I'm not sure what else on the menu has non vegan ingredients but is listed as vegan but I'm positive the people here don't understand the definition of the vegan diet. The food was very upsetting to our stomachs and I'd just like to warn others.

Great food, service can be improved - Edit

The food at essence is delicious. However, depending on the server, your experience might vary. I've had servers ignore my level of spice preference and be rude while taking orders. Others have been lovely. Still, it is worth the try. When the order is right and service doesn't suck, it is totally worth it.
