So where to begin? La comida? Muy buena! So fresh. So real. Just eat, and you WILL be satisfied. No stupido beyond burgers here, just pure wholesome veg, prepared exquisitely. Staff = bonita. Hospitality = excepcional. Location = magica. Also, I can't recommend the cacao and night animal tour enough. The guide is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the subject at hand. I want to return.

What a great place!! The staff was happy to help us with spanish and the food came quickly. Great, green view of volcano and surrounding nature. Lovely.

Excellent hôtel for vegans - Edit
If you plan to eat at your hotel, this is one of the best places to stay on this side of volcán Arenal. The whole menu is entirely vegetarian and Chef Gabriel would concoct a vegan masterpiece for me at every meal when the main option wasn't vegan. The hotel is a bit remote, but it offers a (paid) shuttle service.

We stayed in a house next door to this great little place. Small restaurant serves the guests but can take outsiders. Many more vegetarian than vegan options. We wanted to do dinner, but the options were only Italian theme and all dairy and had gluten. Breakfast had more.

Delicious food, incredible service! - Edit
Finding this spot was such a treat! Marvin and his girlfriend greeted us with fresh strawberries and welcomed our family of five into their restaurant even as they had just started to close for the day. We ordered almost every item from the lunch menu and each dish was fantastic. I can not say enough great things about this quirky and totally high quality little spot!

Diner feel, with delicious food - Edit
Ate breakfast here one morning. Told the owner I was vegan and he made me a grilled veggie salad with balsamic dressing (see picture). It was delicious! He was also extremely friendly. At the end, I asked where they get the majority of their produce. He said that depending on the season from their farm, otherwise, locally from other farms and families. All the more reason to support them! It’s well out of town but a beautiful location.

This is a lovely little restaurant with a hostel. Our lunch was excellent, and sourced from local ingredients. The host and cook were both really friendly. This is definitely off the beaten path but well worth it.
