Centro que sirve de referencia en la cocina macrobiótica en Barcelona. Comida sana, rica y cocinada con amor en un local con un ambiente tranquilo y con energía positiva. Tienen nuchas combinaciones en el menú diario, comida abundante y equilibrada. Opción vegana y vegetariana. Recomendado 100%!

The place is not easy to find to begin with. It's located in what looks like a private apartment where you have to ring the bell to get in. We were a little early (like 10 Min) for lunch and they simply send us away instead of offering us to sit down and have a drink while we're waiting. When we were finally "allowed" inside we were given a slip of paper where to tip your choice of food. You pay in advance at the register and then sit down in a kitchen-like atmosphere while they prepare your food. Overall it was an underwhelming experience. The water mug were empty and when we asked for fresh water this simple question somehow caused them lots of work. The cutlery was dirty and the food, well ... I don't even remember it by now. It was bland, not even hot and left me unsatisfied and unimpressed. The atmopshere is that of a doctor's waiting room, very sterile like you're not allowed to talk. I wouldn't go there again.

Based on the 1st floor within close proximity to catalunya square, this is a must for all foodies. Great tasting food, which is actually very healthy for you but tastes absolutely delicious. Very inexpensive, great service and good feel about the place, highly recommended

Yes....,ESMACA is a fab place to eat tasty macro food in a lovely old building right in the heart of Barcelona. Nice atmosphere & owner & staff very friendly. Highly recommended!

WoW what an excellent find. Fresh choices of macrobiotic clean wholesome food. Exceptionally helpful staff! When you enter you think you ate in a clinic. They show you how to order and take back to the kitchen. Communal tables available. I got mine to go. Four courses, soup salad, main and dessert for under 10 Euro which is less than a piece of toast and coffee in Barcelona. Going back today. If you are looking for healthy clean food, this is the place!

My experience was very good: healthy menu, tasty and reasonable price, especially considering its location. Fresh and beautifully prepared foods: hummus was the first of my life that I liked! The atmosphere was pleasant to me: well lit and with furniture and decor that invites you to relax in your workday's break. It is also a curious experience having to actively participate by preparing your table and, after eating, cleaning. I recommend the option to take away, especially now coming sunny days!
Pay attention because the dining room is on the first floor and can go unnoticed when one looks...
