Discount liquidation store selling groceries, some of which have expired best-by purchased dates, along with many vegan choices like frozen Gardein products, cheeses/milk/yogurt, sprouted grain breads in the freezer case, and a large selection of produce, both sprayed or organic. The stock is constantly rotating and some items only stick around a short time. Open Mon-Sat 9:00am-7:00pm. Closed Sun.

Cue the (Vegan) Bagpipes

This place gives me the mixed feels.

One hand, it’s a funky discount grocery offering an array of vegan products that are now hard to find in the mainstream stores. Apart from diverse vegan wares dispersed evenly throughout the store, the aisle spanning the spectrum of sauces is alone worth a gander. There’s seriously a sauce for every sitch - and that’s good - because variety is the spice of life, innit?

On the other hand.. and I really don’t even want to utter it.. but is Eshes, like, where vegan food goes to die? I say this because (worth reiterating) I most certainly found many plant-based products in here that I can no longer find elsewhere.

So, yeah, it seems that Eshes provides both an opportunity to stock up on sun-setting vegan favorites and also a stark reminder of the temporality of things. Because they’re always going to stop making your favorite deodorant or supplement or chips that taste exactly like your best memory of nacho cheesier Doritos. I guess it’s just nice to know that they get just one more stop before going to that big vegan supermarket in the sky.

Like others have said, check the expiration dates on thy discounted treasures. While of course there’s some unspoken wiggle room with the mandated “best by” dates, that jar of vegan aioli that’s beginning to look a lot like.. Christmas.. might be worth steering clear of, unless you already have such an entry on the new year botulism-bingo card.

Esh's RULES! Discount vegan snacks, meat-alternatives, and bulk!

It's tough to beat Esh's on prices! They sell liquidated goods from other stores, mostly food, including a great selection of packaged vegan products which might have ended up at Esh's because they are priced too high the first time around! Vegan GF cookies are constantly showing up, as well as an ever-changing selection of plant-based cheese/dairy/meat-alternatives. Their produce is sometimes hit or miss but being a keen-eyed customer will keep you from coming home to a purchase full of bruised apples and damaged zucchini. I dig their deli which has well-priced and delicious kombucha on tap, as well as avocado toast. Their healthcare and beauty area sometimes has excellent deals on Dr. Bronners and J.A.S.O.N. products as well as many other brands which do not animal test. Remember to bring bags, but they also have cardboard boxes near the registers to help carry home your goodies! Happy shopping!

Pros: Great selection of vegan products, Excellent prices, Yummy kombucha

Cons: Rotating stock means you may not find something, More vegan deli options please!
