Hot chocolate is out of this world

If you like chocolate and hot chocolate, this is the place for you. I’ve never had anything like it.

Delicious Historic Drinking Chocolate

I have tried several of the historic chocolate drinks here and they are so good! They offer 4 kinds: Xochiaya, Spain, Italy, France. Spain, Italy, and France are all vegan by default because they are made with just water, chocolate, and spices. Xochiaya is made with honey by default, but they will make it without honey if requested. The place is also beautifuly decorated inside and out. Great place to pick up a nice chocolate gift and greeting card too.

Pros: Delicious Historic Drinking Chocolate

BEST Chocolate Ever

I consider myself a bit of a chocolate fiend, and there is zero chocolate I've had - bean-to-bar, commercial, you name it - that has held a candle to Escazu. They ethically source their cacao and when walking inside the door you are immediately hit with the amazing smell of the beans crushing (which you can see through a small window). They clearly mark their dairy-free options (do be mindful of honey, though) and offer oat milk for their milk-based hot chocolate (try the peanut butter - they use real, ground peanut butter in it!). They also have "historic" drinking chocolates that are water-based (I highly recommend the Italian). They also offer dairy-free ice cream push pops and occasionally their own homemade dairy-free ice cream by the container. They have ruined me for all other chocolate forever, so I'm very lucky I live nearby!

Pros: AMAZING quality, Women-owned business, Clearly-marked dairy-free options

Cons: They will ruin you for all other chocolate!
