The place is just beautiful, but make a reservation through their website in advance as lots of people got turned away. They have wifi, a terrace and a bathroom.
Read moreThe menu just lists meat dishes that can be made vegan. I got the "angus entrecôte" for 16eur and therefore expected sth similar in vegan form. But: i got like sweet potato (?) Falafel with tomato sauce, just a tiny little bit of veggies as well as french fries. Taste was good but nothing extraordinary. Why not list it as a separate dish if it has nothing in common with the actual dish??
Please note that you will have to pay for water (3.50eur) as well as the bread aioli olives (2eur per person, aioli is not vegan) if the waiter comes and asks if you want some.
Our waiter was a little forgetful. Came to ask if we wanted bread, we said yes, he brought it to us. Much later while we were eating he came to get our actual order. Later the same thing with paying, he forgot about us and we were waiting for quite some time until some other waiter noticed us.

I got the vegan versions of "chicken payes wok with cashews" and "grilled pineapple". They replaced the chicken with crispy tofu strips. Very good.

Worth to visit - Edit
Popular restaurant in the centre of Valdemossa. The place looks nice and it was almost full when we visited. It is recommended to reserve a table.

Es Taller offers a menu where a large number of dishes can be made vegan additionally to the ones that already are. Combinations of ingredients and flavours are diverse and not standard and I like that. The ambiance is laid back and cosy.

Read moreIt’s a cool, unique, artsy and understated ambiance set in a open, light and airy space that was once an auto shop. They honor the previous business to occupy the space with old photos on the walls and by keeping some of the vintage signage up. A large doorway opens onto a patio where we sat next to a garden where, it is said, many of the veggies they serve are grown.
The food was delicious, probably the best I had in Mallorca and they obviously totally understand what vegan means and welcome vegan diners (not necessarily common in the region). Our server said she is also vegan! The dishes were gourmet, flavorful and inspired, but definitely tapas-size portions. Still, for the price, it was fine to order several dishes. I’d say most of the vegan dishes were Asian-leaning if not pretty much Asian fusion. Still, there was definitely a Spanish flair to them. The wait staff were all very friendly and they were slammed… The place is very popular and, at least during high season, you need a reservation. We got one same-day but it wasn’t until 9:30pm on a Monday, at which point the place, and I guess Spain in general, was still bustling.
Drawbacks were the glorification of animal flesh all over the menu, including “suckling pig” and “fois gras,” which I’d rather not read or think about as someone who loves animals. I particularly felt my vegan ethics were compromised spending money at a place that serves torture dishes. Also, when ordering as a vegan, the options are all meat dishes adapted to be vegan so you have yo say “I’ll have the duck, vegan “ and they say it back to you when they bring the food.
Ideally they wouldn’t serve animals at all, obviously, but an entirely vegan version of the menu, devoid of the cruelty content, and one where we’re not reminded at every turn that vegan options are adaptations of murder dishes, would have been much better.

Mi pareja se pidió un ceviche vegano que nos encantó y yo me pedí un pad thai vegano muy bueno también. Es un lugar muy bonito y tienen su propio huerto, repetiremos si volvemos a Valldemossa.

Read moreThe taquitos and chocolate tart were amazing. Really interesting, well-balanced flavours. The pad thai and green curry were disappointing. The pad thai tasted nothing like it’s namesake and was an at-best average flavoured veggie stir fry with some rice noodles chucked in. The curry had fresh, perfectly cooked vegetables and tofu but had no flavour or colour. Possibly they forgot the curry paste? It was like eating a weird spicy vegetable cereal… not offensive but not great.
Nice ambiance, but staff on the 3 occasions we went were (with a few exceptions) pretty slow and obnoxious. The host was very brusque both times we arrived - even with a booking.
Do make sure you book in advance though, especially for dinner.

Es un restaurante con mucho encanto y personalidad. Cuenta con opciones veganas en los entrantes, platos principales y en los postres. El entrante de bimi con humus es uno de mis favoritos.

Sehr leckeres Essen und Restaurant - Edit
Wir waren mehrmals im Es Taller essen, da es uns dort so gut geschmeckt hat. Die Gerichte überzeugen in Geschmack, Optik und Menge. Auch das Ambiente des Restaurants hat uns gut gefallen. Es war immer voll, daher sollte man unbedingt reservieren.

Opening times incorrect and rude staff member - Edit
Went there at 6:30pm but went inside and was told they were not open for another 40mins, the waiter was rather rude to be honest. They need to update there opening times as happy cow said they were open and need to turn people away politely if closed.

Its a beautiful place with lots of vegan options. All the vegan food and wine was delicious💚Stuff is very friendly😊If you want to go there for a dinner I recommend you a reservation - ask for a table near the window and enjoy magical sunset view😍
