Sorbets vegan dont certains bio - Edit
Excellents sorbets aux parfums originaux et/ou bio. Par contre, il ne faut pas être pressée... l’équipe était clairement en sous-effectif ce jour-là, nous avons attendu une bonne quinzaine de minutes alors que nous étions venues dès l’ouverture.

Sorbet Without Vegan Labels - Edit
Located right next to the harbor, this was a great place for me to get an ice cream before leaving La Rochelle.
Read moreUnfortunataly, the vegan options were not labeled as vegan, and when I asked what was vegan the staff were initially confused and unsure. After a while they realised sorbet is vegan and told me all the sorbets were vegan, which, according to comments on HappyCow, is inaccurate. I asked if the waffle was vegan and he knew that it wasn't.
I had the raspberry and the orange (5€). It tasted alright, like any kind of sorbet.
After such high ratings on HappyCow my expectations were perhaps a bit too high.

Read moreJust be careful: The only vegan ice creams are the sorbets, except for the 2 chocolate flavors.
There is a sign on the wall, where all the flavors are listed, so pick and choose from the sorbet list (except chocolate) :)
Also, the waffle is not vegan, so take a plastic cup.
The personnel is really nice.
When we asked which flavors are without milk, the girl behind the register offered us (without us asking) to wash the spoons.

Ernest is a La Rochelle's institution. No visit to the city is complete without a stop at this ice cream parlor.

Read morePrices are a bit high (3€/1 ball in plastic recipient ; add 20 cents for the cornetto)... But the quality is there ! Ingredients are fresh, and it's no [censored] ice cream or sorbet from your supermarket. Give a try : I usually don't like ice cream at all. This time I loved !
