High quality vegan food - Edit
ErbOsteria is a small Restaurant a little bit outside of the city centre. They have a small changing menue, which is vegetarian and vegan, the allergens are clearly labelled. The taste is very good, they use saisonal and high quality ingredients and the atmosphere there is nice!
Read moreThey have not so many tables, so I would recommend to make a reservation!
It’s definitely the place to go if you search for something vegan in Trieste!
Pros: Almost everything is vegan, Good ingredients , Delicious food
Cons: Expensive, Stuff was a little bit rude

Tasty food, nice atmosphere - Edit
I genuinly liked my food and the atmosphere was great. I should have ordered a side dish to my main dish though (instead of my primo), since everything I odered was very carb-heavy. The waitress was friendly and would have translated everything on the menu.
Read more(But I felt a little bit intimidated by her concern that I would write a negative review since I ate my food so slowly 😅).
Pros: nearly all vegan
Cons: carb-heavy

Freshness you can taste - Edit
After a week in triest I must say this was the only place I felt I have eaten authentic italien food. The prices were okay for the quality they serve. The ingredients are from local farmers and the herbs are grown by their own. Just from the taste I, as a worker on organic farms, can say this is really fresh food.
Read moreAs a pre dish we had lentil balls and toasted garlic bread with hummus in three variations.
The main dishes were truly the best (both of them)!:
- Strudel with vegetables and chickpeas with two little side dishes similar to pudding or polenta but salty and herby (very good!)
- Similar two lasagne but with obergine instead of dough (gluten free) with very tasty (fresh) tomatoes inside and vegan pesto on top together wit some walnut parmesan.
The desert was also good. I had a chocolate cake with peaches inside.
I only wish they would offer juices in a similar quality.
Open only on Friday till Sunday: 18:30 - 23:00

Nice, cosy place and good food - Edit
Nice, cosy place and good food. We both had the mushroom flan with polenta from a small village on the Friulian Dolomites, and then we ordered the buckwheat gnocchi with lentil ragout and the aubergine-chickpea meatloaf with carrot and ginger pure. They also make herb syrup, I tried their dandelion one.

Amazing food, uninviting service - Edit
We had lunch at this place everything from starter, primi and secondi tasted perfectly. Prices are ok ~10€ per main course are fair for the great taste and good portion size.
Read moreI recommend the gnocchi with lentils!
The only downside was the service by the owner which was unfriendly and did not give us a good feeling of being at the restaurant.

Best in town - Edit
Been living in Trieste for years now and ErbOsteria is one the main choices for me when it comes to treating myself for a nice dinner. Usually about 70% of the dishes are vegan I'd say, 30% vegetarian, the food is locally sourced and the owners are a lovely young couple, def try, and I recommend getting a reservation because it's a small place!

My favourite restaurant - Edit
This is a small vegetarian/vegan restaurant, owned by a couple, they are really nice and they make you feel like home. The food is great! Menu changes weekly, they are really careful on the ingredients they use (always high quality, from vegetables, to dairies, to beverages and spices). She is an expert of herbs and their properties, so in their kitchen they use a lot of herbs and spices, this makes their food even more tasty and special. They sell a wide range of tisanes, you can drink one there or you can buy it! I highly recommend this place, it's amazing!!

Grande qualità - Edit
Locale piccolo e accogliente gestito da una giovane coppia. Materie prime eccezionali per freschezza e gusto, piatti semplici ma curatissimi. Chi non è vegano deve assaggiare il fricco! Prezzi contenuti.

Tasty, high quality food - Edit
All the dishes I tried were delicious and healthy. The restaurant’s specialty is in the use of herbs, which gives each dish a unique flavor that can’t be found elsewhere. Be aware that although the restaurant opens at 6 PM, dinner is served starting at 7:30 PM. Also, the price seems more like $$ to me; I paid 22 euros for a starter, main course, and dessert. The staff were very friendly.

Very nice venue, local dishes, local ingredients and medicinal herbs: worth visiting! - Edit
Three of us visited ErbOsteria on a cold night, and had a three course menu (menus change weekly), so we tried quite a bit of what they have on offer.
Read moreThe strength of this restaurant lies in their use and knowledge of medicinal herbs, which feature in most if not all dishes, and in their offering local dishes made with local ingredients.
The venue is super cute and cozy: perfect for a nice, relaxed dinner out, and we were quite happy with the food as well.
My dad had a generous serving of local cheese which featured in a dish typical to Friuli, while my mom had a farro or orzo main. Food and presentation are nice and homely: not at all pretentious which is mostly reflected in the prices. The cakes for dessert were definitely aromatic, but dry for my taste.
Many dry herbs are also on sale at the venue, which gives the space a lovely apothecary feeling. I think it is worth visiting while in Trieste, even if it is a bit out of the way.
Pros: Great use of medicinal herbs, Regional, local dishes and ingredients, Lovely venue
Cons: A bit out of the way, The cakes were a bit dry

Grazie all'ErbOsteria

Charming and delicious - Edit
We liked it so much we went back the next night - with non-veggies who liked it just add much as us. Lovely atmosphere. Delicious, fresh veggie and (mainly) vegan food. Local dishes and ingredients. Well worth the walk out of the center, to a very non-tourist part of town.

We really enjoyed our meal at Erbosteria, we had Gnocchi with asparagus which was absolutely delicious. The staff are very friendly and the ambiance is nice. The only downside is that it is not the most central. It's worth the trip any time though!

Beautiful place and food - Edit
I had an absolutely lovely meal here. The menu changes every day, and they were very happy to explain it in English for me. Everything here is made using aromatic herbs. It's all vegetarian, and some dishes contain cheese, but there were plenty of options without, including both desserts. Everything is also organic, and some of the dishes are raw.
Read moreI drank iced herbal tea; my starter was raw zucchini with lemon and mint; my main was gnocchi with fresh asparagus sauce and almonds; my dessert was cake with balsamic herbs, ginger and the like. I took a strawberry tarte to go for my friend.
I didn't know any of the prices before ordering, and I was ready to hand over whatever amount they asked for :) But all of this including service charge came to 13.50 EUR.. absolute bargain!
The restaurant is very quiet, and beautifully decorated. A pleasant place for a solo meal.
Pros: Food is excellent, Price, Atmosphere
Cons: Location is off the beaten track
