Loved the different type of food - Edit
We really enjoyed being able to try Cuban food. The food was good. There were not enough vegetables for me but it’s traditional Cuban food so they were true to that. The place is very casual - almost like a picnic style atmosphere. The staff is amazingly friendly and made the experience even better. I would go back and I recommend picking up a pint of beer from the brewery across the street first and taking it with you to complete the experience.

Cuban vegan! - Edit
Cool Cuban spot with lots of bright, beautiful, and tasty vegan options. The heart of palm soup with tostones was good, especially the tostones. We also had the loaded yuca dish and the pina colada cupcake. Everything was very tasty, and the staff were nice.

You have to try this place! - Edit
The food here is phenomenal! Traditional Cuban flavors minus the animal products, you seriously won’t be able to tell the difference. I would definitely bring anyone who isn’t sure about going vegan here bc their food will seal the deal, it’s ~that~ good! Make sure to try the rice pudding too!

Oh how I have missed Cuban being a vegan. Well, today that all changes. Garlic roast pork, shrimp enchiladas, tostones, yuca fries, and papa rellenas....heaven. Near LAX, don’t miss it.

Delicious food and cute place in Inglewood - Edit
I live very close to this place yet only discovered it recently and I am in love!! I’ve been to this place twice so far and tried different dishes. Both were amazing, really tasty, full of spices.. I was in Vegan Heaven! The service was pretty fast, I was kind of in a rush the first time because I had to go to work but everything came really fast and the staff was really friendly.

Pretty, Pretty Good. - Edit
The food was pretty good. I had the Arroz Con Pollo and brought two non vegans and a vegetarian and they all thought it was great. Don’t care too much about not having a public bathroom as I’m here to eat, not to use a bathroom. However, there was one lady who was extremely abrasive and gave an unnecessary attitude over seating and what the other staff told us about where we could sit. All in all I’m going back, food was definitely worth it.

cuban vegan. tasty with some unique flavors and texture. - Edit
found a yummy vegan cuban restaurant in los angeles. fake meats are soy based, except "beef" is jack fruit. I'd much prefer that they used different names for the"meats" instead of the actual animal names. vegans don't want to eat chicken, and it's not chicken anyway, so call it something else. beef is jack fruit. call it jack fruit. it confounds me that vegan restaurants use animal names for food. nonetheless, food is tasty. service is pleasant enough. ambiance is well... not ideal. it's next to busy road with cars zooming by. new flavors and textures. first time eating cooked hearts of palm. plan to add to my repertoire at home. next time, ditch the white rice for yucca or plantains. location, in inglewood by lax, is a bit off the path for a vegan spot. service could be more attentive. service is a bit hit/miss. it feels like, whether or dine here, it doesn't matter to them. mostly recommended, though I probably wouldn't eat here again.

Positive Experience! - Edit
Props to them for adding something truly unique to the Los Angeles vegan landscape. Server Jessica was really on top of it. Had the Fricase de Polle & Rosa Vieja. Both dishes were fantastic. The plantains were cooked to perfection. Portions could be a tad bigger and a public restroom would help. Overall a very positive experience.

Not spectacular - Edit
The food is okay - like previous reviewers I found it to be somewhat mediocre, especially considering the price tag on the items. But what really bothered me and prompted me to write this review is their lack of a public bathroom: my girlfriend really had to use the toilet, and since they have none, she was told to use the bathroom of a neighboring business. I really don’t think it’s good practice to tell your customers to go elsewhere to use the bathroom. They lose major points for this.

food lacked flavor - Edit
I am hesitantly giving this restaurant a mediocre review. More than anything I want to support a vegan Cuban restaurant so despite this review I encourage everyone to patronize this restaurant. Other customers seemed happy with their food. However, the food was bland. The staple Cuban item of black beans lacked taste, it was served cold, and had no bay leaf. The rice I was served may have been boxed "instant"- it was definitely not traditional white rice. I ordered "ropa vieja" and it had no bell peppers! That was weird. It did have tons of onions - too many for my taste. The tostones were dry and hard. But my husband was ok with it. Finally, Cuban food is normally delicious ! I grew up with it. But this restaurant seemed to cook without those wonderful flavors and spices. Where is the organo? The cilantro ?
Read moreWhat was good? My husband enjoyed the cupcake. And the two pretty waitresses worked hard and did their best to offer a good experience.

This is my second visit. Overall the first visit was fine. I had the "Fricase de Pollo" it was good.
Read moreOn my second visit, I had the Camarones Enchiladas, also good. As the title indicates......
As I walked into the place, I noticed a sign saying no public restroom. I came to understand the public includes customers. You better use the restroom before you come, because they won't allow you to use theirs. On that basis alone I can think of many other vegan restaurants to go to ( especially when the food is no standout).
Service was lacking as well (they brought my food, yet I had to ask for a knife and fork).
Cons: Mostly Patio dining, only two tables indoors. No

Terrible - I wish I could give this 0 stars - Edit
This place is just terrible. It was dirty, the food was bland and the woman who was working was so rude. I've never been treated so badly at a restaurant - she was very loud and aggressive. A couple walked out while I was there because she was so confrontational. 0 stars, never eat here.

Appreciation from Alaska! - Edit
My partner and I were on a long layover in LA, on our way back home, and decided to make it into a gastronomic vegan adventure (in my ever-expanding goal of navigating the world via Happy Cow).
Read moreFound this place online, and decided to go - so glad that we did! We ordered El Cubanaso and the Agave Fire Wings...and were practically admonished by another patron for not ordering something with mojo sauce. The food was excellent (one of the best sandwiches I've ever had), and we are still regretting not getting an order of yucca fries and mojo sauce.
I keep joking that LAX will have to be our go-to transition on any future trips. We hope to return soon! Thanks for the friendly service and the excellent food.
Pros: Easy to find, Close to LAX, AMAZING FOOD

Good eats, friendly environment - Edit
I loved eating here. I ordered quite a bit of food while I was here, but was informed that I might be getting a little to much (yes, it would have been). I got a cuban (what else?) and it was great. Both members of the staff that I talked to were very friendly.
Read moreAs a side note, the side I got with my sandwich was rather salty. I'm not sure whether this is cuban food in general or just the dish that I ordered, but I ended up having to wipe some of the salt off, I just couldn't take it.
This is something very minor, though. I will be happy here to return to try more in the future.

QUE RICO!!!! - Edit
After a mini-photoshoot outside the restaurant, we entered and were warmly greeted by one of the owners (a female). We were seated on the enclosed patio area, which was kept warm (it was in the evening) by heat-lamps. The female owner was super sweet, helpful, and patient in answering questions from all of us, including the small children at our table.
Read moreI ended up ordering the Potato Ball, Alitas (the spicy agave wings), Camarones al Ajillo, Cuban Nachos con Picadillo, y Yucca Frita.
Potato Ball - huge ball! Crispy on the outside and lleno de papas inside. Being a saucy individual, I'd prefer to have a dedicated dipping sauce with this dish, just to give that extra "ummph."
Camarones al Ajillo - I enjoyed the garlicky vegan butter sauce in which the shrimp were doused, however, I felt that the saffron rice could've used a bit more seasoning. Maybe if I asked for extra garlic sauce that would've been sufficient for me. (Again, I'm "saucy.")
Cuban Nachos (con picadillo) - a nice island twist to American nachos. They use plantain chips instead of tortilla chips. It had lots of flavor and was enjoyable and filling.
Yucca Frita - perfectly prepared with sea salt and served with a delicious garlic aioli-like dipping sauce. Yummy!
ALITAS! They come in 2 different flavors, but of course, I got the spicy agave flavor. ¡QUE SABROSA! These babies were such a hit that I immediately regretted ordering just one. Obviously, I needed about 4 or 5 orders in which to drown my gluttonous desires. They weren't really spicy (to me), but the superb flavor was so titillating to my taste buds that I couldn't focus on anything else; I only wanted these Alitas for the rest of my life, 'til heaven do us part.
DD got the Cuban Sandwich. She is a fairly picky eater, but she loved this sandwich so much that she's been begging me to drive back to Cali for it. I did not try it, so I cannot comment.
On the night we visited (Friday, 18Mar16), they were playing salsa. As usual, with good food I tend to dance. I was joined on the patio by one of the servers, and we got our salsa on! How fun!!
It was a great night, with great food, great friends, and an awesome VEGAN CUBAN dining experience. ¡Muchisima gracias pa todo! I will certainly return.
Pros: amazing vegan Cuban cuisine, Delicious vegan wings!, friendly service
Cons: location
