New to halifax, dining around. The atmosphere is very peaceful and service was kind and accommodating. I had the Seitan Burger and haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. Bravo! Will be back.

I enjoyed EnVie. Their food is very fresh and you can taste that. An example is I asked to add avocado to my tacos to which they said no because the avocados they had in stock weren’t ready yet so wouldn’t taste good which I appreciate because most places would have just added bad avocados and took the extra money. The space is bright, clean and welcoming. Points for ambiance! Our server was kind and good at her job. She also took the smoothie off my bill after learning I didn’t like it. Also the cheesecake was not good, definitely not worth spending that much on. But thats my only criticism. I actually came back here to get take out on our way out of Halifax because I enjoyed it the first time. Would come back if I’m ever in Halifax again!

11 Sept - This restaurant has a great menu it was very difficult to choose. I had the peanut bowl which was very healthy, fresh and filling. The poutine was delicious. Definitely going back. Excellent place
Read more13 Sept - 2nd visit in 3 days. We both had the special which was a South West seitan burger with wedges, served with a beet ketchup which was delicious. Paul recommends the strawberry cheesecake
14 Sept - 3rd visit. We had the veggie rolls to share and then the mushroom schnitzel. This was delicious with a beautiful warm potato salad.
18 Sept - having been unable to return to the UK due to hurricane Lee we went again. We shared the dumplings. I had the BBQ mushroom tacos and other half had paid Thai. Both delicious although I'd expected the taco to be warm. Finished off with cheesecake.
There has been other good vegan food in Halifax but EnVie is excellent. You must visit if you are in Halifax.

Lovely vegan restaurant in downtown Halifax. Lots of options on the menu including salads, sandwiches, burgers, and ethnic flavors. My non-vegan family enjoyed their meal very much too.

On the plus side, it's great to discover a 100% vegan venue where you can eat with confidence. On the minus, it's unusual L-shaped dining area isn't built to handle the Saturday lunch crowds. It was noisy and the service was harried, and the staff, perhaps, undertrained. Twice my waiter sprinted by asking how the food was, etc. Each time it was just as I was putting food into my mouth. The one time I didn't have my mouth full I had to answer over my shoulder. Zoom. Envie the bullet train. Yet the place was not full.

The protein bowl was satisfying -- tofu, chick peas, edamame, hemp hearts, oven-fried sweet potato, etc. -- but heavy on the fat content. It could use a base of rice or noodles to balance the protein and fat.
These complaints might seem petty, but with high prices for small portions I think they are merited.

Read moreShared the cheese platter, ordered gf but came with regular bread and took awhile for the gf bread to come. The cheddar was the best one. Blueberry jam was not a good pairing imo it overpowered the cheeses.
The herbed potatoes were OK, a bit dry but the Beet ketchup was great.
Tacos were good, but not amazing.
The cheesecake wasn't very good. Lacked flavour and was crumbly.

The location was a bit hard to find but it was a cute restaurant. The servers took a while to bring menus which was weird since we were the only ones there. When we finally got our food, the fries were barely cooked and had potato bugs. The food was decent but I wouldn’t go back.

This is one of our local regular vegan restaurants. They have a small yet tasty menu. Everything is good! Bao, noodles, Caesar salads, tacos, burgers. They have a full juice bar, coffee bar & serve alcoholic beverages. We’re not dessert fans but have been known to grab a date bar to go.

If you're looking for a nice meal out, this is the place to go. We made a reservation (to be on the safe side) and I'm glad we did because it was fairly busy when we arrived. The staff were friendly and the food was amazing. Loved to see a full vegan menu with so many choices. One of the best meals I've had out in a while!
