Bold flavours that somehow felt familiar at the same time - Edit
En Root was a wonderful experience, from the bubbly kind staff, to the spicy house hot sauce, to the inventive fusion of cuisines that just seemed to work.
Read moreThe vibrant styles and fusion of east and west met perfectly, with food that was prompt, hot, and delicious. The drinks offerings were plentiful and it took the two of us a very long time to decide on our food just because we felt overwhelmed with options!
We tried the sharing starter and thali, and both were presented beautifully, and were incredible value for money as it left us with enough food for dinner and lunch the day after!
Would highly recommend En Root, and cant wait to come back
Pros: Presentation was stunning , felt very homely and welcoming , excellent hot sauce
Cons: The batter on the mushrooms was a bit stodgy

Mediocre food - Edit
Had the en root platter, which tasted good (especially the daal) but the portions are quite small and I think it‘s a bit overpriced.
Read moreAs they didn’t have any naan left I had a plain dosa which was just bland and under salted.
Went there for the sticky toffee pudding, which they first forgot about and when it finally came, it was just dry and the ice cream was hard and came in pieces. When I pointed this out to the waiter he made me feel like it was just me. But honestly a sticky toffee pudding really should be moist and sticky.
Wouldn‘t reccoment it as I think there are a lot of better places in London.

Tasty - Edit
Yummy falafel wrap with braised mushrooms and Indian spices. Served with their special hot sauce which comes in 3 strengths- beware. Washed down with Nigerian cider.

Really delicious food. Veg samosas, kidney bean curry and dosa all on point! Also, they do amazing hot sauces which were so good we bought 3 bottles to take home. We will definitely be returning because the menu is full of amazing sounding dishes and we are keen to try more!

One of the best vegan restaurants out there - Edit
I have been to this restaurant multiple times just because of how good it is. Anytime I have friends visiting, I take them here, this is probably the best restaurant in peckham. The food selection is immaculate and so is the drink selection. There are many mixed-culture dishes which are some of their best. If you are visiting peckham this is a must try even if you aren’t vegan

Great atmosphere, excellent food - Edit
Small, plant-based, casual restaurant with super friendly staff and the food is delicious. We had the Popadoms, Tandoori Wings and Sharing Tahli for two and the portion sizes were generous and we walked away full.
Read moreThe restaurant was busy and the staff were rushed off their feet, but this didn’t detract from the overall experience too much.

Nice food and vibe - Edit
I ordered the En Root thali which includes 2 vegetable curries, a dal, rice, salad and raita. It was all very tasty. I also had the 'ice cream sandwich' for dessert which was ice cream on a paratha. Mostly good for the novelty of the combination!

Excellent in many ways, the food was not exceptional enough for a 5 - Edit
The cocktails are great and show innovation. The food is solid and reassuringly good. However, there was nothing amazing about it and there are plenty of restaurants in London offering similarly good Indian cuisine.

Possible the best food I've ever eaten - Edit
I visited with my daughter and we tried 4 things between us and they were all amazing. The food tasted so fresh and flavourful without being overwhelming. There are lots of choices of smaller and larger dishes. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the prices are very reasonable for London.

Really good hot sauces - Edit
We ordered the Samosa Chaat, Plantain Chaat, Puri Puri, and one of the "tacos" to share. Food was super tasty but my favourite was their own brand hot sauces that come in 3 different levels - very interesting mix of flavours, citrussy and spicy. They are available on all tables to pour on the food as you please! We bought a bottle of medium and hot to take with us afterwards!

Too good to go box - Edit
I got it discounted so it was cheap and I couldn’t tell you what was in it but still a really good portion and soooo good. The potato mixture was my favourite for sure. The atmosphere inside was really nice and it was quite busy even on a Tuesday night.
