These 3 star and less reviews are hard to believe! - Edit
We ordered a loaded toast with avocado mash and veggie toppings, although they were out of the corn salsa, the owner suggested that we top it with chickpeas, and we found it delicious! We also ordered a waffle with the energy boost, toppings suggestion, and we also enjoyed that thoroughly!
Read more we ordered two cookies to go, and oatmeal raisin and a double chocolate chip. Soooo good! So decadent!
Maybe since 2021 when the earlier reviews were written , things have changed. We really loved our selections and look forward to returning and trying more things.
Our only critique would be that the toast could have been more toasted and the waffle more crispy. Otherwise. Taste and combo of flavors was spot on!
Pros: Easy parking, cash discount, Healthy options , Tasty
Cons: Only takeout. No seating, Pricy, Toast could have been more toasted

Emy (the delight) offers the pretty sight of vegan cupcakes and more (the bites). A vegan for ten years, she is absurdly friendly, knowledgable, patient, generous, highly creative and loves to make gorgeous treats from alternative flours and sugar.

Ten stars! - Edit
My partner and I had a great experience at Emy’s! We were like kids in a candy store and nearly bought one of everything. The owner was unbelievably welcoming, kind, and patient. Standout items were the avocado toast, smoothie bowl, truffles, and chocolate-covered Oreos. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

Update: The kids and I made the 3-hour drive up to Emy's in July, just to stock up before they closed for a couple weeks. It was a very rewarding adventure and the customer service was out of this world again! I can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to return, in October!

For seven sizeable desserts, we only paid around $30!
The outdoor seating area was a great addition

Delicious Variety - Edit
We were curious to try this bakery/restaurant because there were a couple mixed HappyCow reviews. However, we quickly realized those were pure blasphemy!
Read moreThe food was delicious, with tons of options! There were all kinds of baked goods, waffles, smoothie lattes, smoothie bowls, etc. Plus, Emy provided delightful customer service!
Apparently, they even ship orders during the colder months, starting around September. Even if you do not live nearby, check their website to order a treat shipped to you for the holidays, or even just for fun.
Also, the location is easy to get to, and they have a parking lot, along with plenty of outdoor seating.
Highly recommend!

Lovely lunch with treats for days! - Edit
I saw all these reviews where people are dragging this place, but I had no cause for complaint. My girlfriend and I stopped here on a road trip. I got my smoothie bowl needs met, she got a sandwich, and we made some scrumptious selections from the abundant display case to take with us on the journey. Was very pleased with the experience!

I went on the suggestion of the Inn keeper when I was looking to bring treats to a lunch with family (mixed omnivores and vegans). Was so pleased a the selection of treats to bring. Everyone loved the truffles, which are delicious. And I picked up the Suncream cookies and white chocolate snacks for myself, all are very yummy.

Life changing! - Edit
Emy’s is honestly one of the BEST things to ever happen to this town. As someone who is extremely dietarily restricted, they have something for everyone! Her to-go meals are absolutely delicious and her baked goods are out of this world. Both Emy and her staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable with any questions or concerns you have. If you have any issues at all, they are always super accommodating & helpful. Seriously, you have to go at least once… I promise you’ll fall in love just like I did!

I’ve been struggling with many food allergies and it’s always difficult to find places where I can eat anything they serve. Their avocado toast is made fresh and is absolutely amazing! They make their bread in house and I’ve even been able to purchase a loaf.

My family is 100% in love with this place! As an allergy mom and a vegan I cannot say enough good things. The food is delicious and Emy is so kind and helpful. Above and beyond answering my allergy mom questions and even bringing our orders out curbside when we weren’t able to go in. We regularity drive over an hour each way just for the donuts! The cookies, cakes, ciabatta bread, Mac and cheese, overnight oats and smoothies, we have sampled and enjoyed it all. I feel so lucky to have stumbled upon this gem online. Yay for a vegan nut free unicorn!

What a Shame - Edit
The location is hard to find but once you get inside the interior design really is cute. When we walked in, the bakery case is the first thing you see. The presentation of the desserts were lacking. This was disappointing, since it’s right down the street from the CIA. They said they are hiring, they should hire a baker from the Culinary and maybe I might come back. Unfortunately, none of the treats looked good to us, so we opted for savory food instead. I think that was a mistake. The black bean burger was dry and bland and hard to swallow. The pasta was overcooked, mushy and almost slimy. Just a heads up, a majority of their savory food is pre-made and not fresh. It looked like it had been sitting there a while because there was a crust forming on some of the items. And they charge way too much for tap water with fruit in it. The concept was too confusing and it was kind of all over the place. They have “gourmet” chocolates, desserts, smoothie bowls, old wilting salads, dry burgers and slimy pasta. I think they should just specialize in just one or two things, then the quality might be better overall. We won’t be back.

Incredible if You have Allergies, Good if You are Vegan - Edit
I want to start by saying the staff and owner were super nice and Emy the owner checked in on how we liked our food and took some constructive criticism well.
Read moreMy fiancée is GF and vegan and was super impressed at their selections and being able to order anything and it being VGF. I am only vegan and maybe a bit harsher as a critic.
We ordered a few items and I had no idea what each thing cost, which is a pet peeve of mine was nothing was marked with a price. I could have asked, but we didn't.
We ordered a premade salad that looked good, but it is still in the fridge, so no review.
A chocolate cupcake with a chocolate chip cookie crumble frosting. The cupcake was good and not overly sweet, but the presentation was not there and the frosting was too soft and sort of melted.
Black bean burger that was on special. The bread was very chewy and tasty but not like "real" bread. I liked it, but if I was elsewhere I would have ordered a non-gluten-free bun. The toppings were plentiful and very flavorful, but the black bean patty was not great. I would not order it again.
We had a falafel burger and other then the bread it was perfect. I mean the bread is my issue as it is a GF place and good GF bread is hard to find. A lot of places serve tiny GF bread and upcharge and the sandwich is half the size, not the case here as the sandwich was huge.
I gave it four stars as the GF stuff was good for GF and we will return. But my gluten eating self might go elsewhere, if I was alone.

Very very good VGF - Edit
OK I have a lot to say. Firstly as a gluten free vegan this is heaven! I can literally have everything on the menu. Secondly as someone who has done a lot of elimination diets and also fed people on elimination diets, it's not easy to come up with tasty and filling recipes all the time.
Read moreThere is a wide menu of grab and go as well as daily specials and tons of desserts.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful too. Emily herself is a delight.
As an entrepreneur myself, I can also really appreciate what an achievent this is for Emily to have opened a restaurant so young, in the middle of a pandemic and be successful. Well done!
OK now on to the food. I loved that even the buns wereade in house for the burgers! Tried both the falafel burger and the black bean burger. The falafel one was absolutely amazing. Really loved the sauces too, that pesto was top notch.
The toppings for the black bean burger were superb, the burger itself was a bit bland but everything else made up for it.
We also had the oreo cupcake and it was very good. I felt the icing was a bit heavy and not super beautiful but the taste was excellent for the frosting and the cupcake.
I also got a falafel salad which I'll eat tomorrow. I'm sure it will be delicious and filling.
This is definitely a place I'll intentionally go back to and even go out of my way for.

Saddening - Edit
If you are part of the 10% that actually has food allergies, and you’re used to eating food that tastes like sand, this place is utopia.
Read moreIf you’re just a regular person looking for some decent food, this place misses the mark. Desserts and savory dishes alike are overpriced, bland, and just plain not enjoyable.
The desserts taste like nothing special and look like something my preschoolers decorated. (I wish I were exaggerating.) The quality-price balance is so poor that it’s offensive.
Their website says the owner graduated from the Culinary Institute down the road, and I hope they can get a refund on their tuition. It doesn’t look like the owner takes any pride in their work, and it’s honestly saddening.
If you actually have severe allergies and this is literally your only option, fine. But if you are just looking for some tasty, fairly-priced vegan food, keep driving to Aba’s Falafel or cross the river and go to Sweet Maresa’s. They cost less and they’re just better. Spend your money on food that’s worthwhile.

Missed the Mark - Edit
I tried the cookie sandwich. The cookies were stale and dry and there was WAY too much frosting in the middle. The frosting was basically pure sugar and what tasted like shortening. It had an unpleasant mouthfeel that left a waxy residue in my mouth. It was hardly edible (it was hard to eat and what I was able to eat was not appetizing). I couldn’t finish it. I will stick with my own recipes at home.

Might as well stay home - Edit
Heads up- all of their savory food is pre-made and isn’t the freshest. You can either microwave it at the cafe or at home. I read a good review on here about their Mac & Cheese and I was surprised to see that they added a bag of frozen, precut mixed veggies (green beans, corn, peas and carrots) in their Vegetable Mac and cheese— if that’s something you’re into. I opted for the normal Mac & Cheese but it still came with cooked broccoli and raw cherry tomatoes. I don’t know about you, but warm, uncooked cherry tomatoes in my Mac & cheese sounds like a crime. I ended up taking off the raw tomatoes before microwaving the broccoli Mac & cheese, but the pasta was mushy and bland and the dish made no sense whatsoever. Let’s just say that the cherry tomatoes wouldn’t have saved it.
Read moreOh, and the sweet and salty snack pack is nothing you should leave the house for— it’s just pretzels and fruit— things you already have at home. You don’t need to pay an overpriced amount for a small container of old fruit and stale, cold pretzels. The apples were brown and you could tell the strawberries weren’t cut that day. I understand it’s not strawberry season, but come on.

Hello Brian,
Read moreThank you very much for supporting our small business! As a smaller business owner I promise you we take great pride in everything we make! I really appreciate you taking the time to write this review so that we can improve! I am so sorry you were unhappy with your experience! We are a small cafe NOT a restaurant, so then therefore yes MOST of our food is pre-made Fresh!
However we do make smoothies, smoothie bowls, avocado toast, hummus toast and sweet toast to order!
All of our products are Gluten free, GF pasta is more mushy then "normal" pasta. We added the fresh cherry tomatoes to add some freshness to the dish!
Also our snacks packs are definitely something you could make at home! The point of the snack packs is to have a quick snack ready for you if you are on the go!
Again I am sorry that you did not enjoy your experience, please email us at Emy.Delights.Bites@gmail.com to talk more and issue a gift card for the amount of your purchase.
Hope you give us another try!

Inconsistent Hours - Edit
I know this business used to advertise that they were open 7 days a week, they had a sign for it and everything. Some days I don’t know if they are closed or if their parking lot is just empty. The Mac & Cheese “empanadas” were dry, lacking flavor, and resembled nothing of an empanada. The mac & cheese was an unappealing gray color with a slimy texture— my son couldn’t finish it. I won’t be coming back.

Wonderful delicious experience! - Edit
First let me start off by saying I am sooo last minute when it comes to planning anything! I saw Emy Delight’s instagram page and messaged them in hopes they would be able to have a cake in time for me... and they instantly replied yes! And they went as far as making a custom cookie cake which is what my little one requested! I was so thrilled they made my day! The cookie cake was unbelievably moist and delicious. During the cake pick up I asked for a green smoothie since I was on the go and didn’t have time for lunch and I was not disappointed at all! The owner came out and introduced herself and it was so nice of her. I think this shop is truly a gem and we’re definitely going back. I’ll be placing an order of cupcakes next month and will of course get a few extra treats for myself!

Cold Mushy Potatoes and Vomit-Colored Cookies - Edit
My mom and I were driving by and we stopped in. The place was hard to see from the road, and we have driven by many times. There was a tacky open sign out front which seemed pretty desperate. The parking lot was empty on a Saturday and I should have taken this as a sign to keep on driving.
Read moreThe bakery case was sparse and kind of a mess. The signs were hard to read and falling over and there were crumbs everywhere. It didn’t look like the owner takes pride in their presentation. The desserts and treats looked like what my mom and I make at home after a few too many glasses of wine. I didn’t want to assume the worst, so I tried a sugar cookie. The inside of the cookie was a brown color which surprised me, because sugar cookies aren’t typically made with brown sugar. The texture was fairly dry and flavorless and rolled in a very unappealing brown-ish green colored sugar, for the holiday I presume. The green sugar went well with the cheap & plastic St Patrick’s Day decorations, that are great for a kid’s party, but they clashed with the contemporary remodeled interior of the bakery.
My mom also tried a “Buddha” bowl, which we think was sitting in the fridge for a few days. It was a disgrace to Buddha honestly. It wasn’t fresh, the vegetables were mushy and overcooked, and there wasn’t much flavor to it. The bowl was cold but can be microwaved upon request. In my opinion, this is not how food should be prepared in a restaurant. I had the breakfast platter. The plate was chaotic piles of cooked potato, slices of rotting avocado, slices of raw unseasoned tomato (which I did not understand), with slices of fruit and fresh blueberries, all together on one plate. It was not appetizing whatsoever. I don’t recommend wasting your time or your money. We paid over $50, just to be disappointed.

Disappointing - Edit
I have been gluten free for 18 years now and I have taught myself how to bake due to the lack of satisfactory gluten free products on the market. A friend of mine gifted me a loaf of their Irish soda bread. Not only was it stale, it was terribly dry, dense, lacking flavor, and barely edible. I ended up making better soda bread myself. I will probably try supporting this business again in the future- just to give them the benefit of the doubt. I was excited to see an entirely gluten free business open up in the Hudson Valley, but I was not impressed whatsoever.

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS - Edit
I have several food allergies that make dining out difficult and I strive to eat vegan as much as possible. This place has been such a blessing. Not only can I get great, healthy meal options here, my sweet tooth is always satisfied. I'm a big chocolate lover, but my partner who isn't can always find something she likes here too. Also - it's been YEARS since I've had a donut until this place. It's now our weekly weekend treats😄

Literally OBSESSED - Edit
Emy Delights & Bites is my absolute favorite cafe in the Hudson Valley. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I'm vegan and my mom has severe food allergies and if you know what that's like, then you know how comforting it is to be able to go into a place knowing you can eat everything and not have to ask any questions - and eat EVERYTHING I do. Her "basic" avocado toast (made on fresh house made bread) is anything but basic. It is to die for.
Read moreNow for what she's known for - her sweets! Highly recommend the staples of bakeries you might be familiar with before you went vegan - her raspberry "butter" cookies as well as black and white cookies give me an immediate rush of nostalgia every time I take a bite. All of her cookies have the perfect texture - it's hard to believe they're vegan and allergen free! There's an amazing rotating menu of sweet goodness and they're always unveiling new things and outdoing themselves every time.
And for Emy herself - WOW. The nicest and most courteous business owner in the area. I'm a frequent customer and I see many other customers coming in. Emy takes the time to speak to all customers, answering any questions they may have. She's understanding and goes out of her way to ensure her customers leave satisfied.
