No longer Ems now GGs - Edit
Ems has changed hands and with it a change of menu. Only vegan items are a few of the cakes, although the almond croissant was delicious. Coffees can be made with alternative milks but all other items are non vegan.
Read morePros: I liked the location looking out over the sea, The coffee and croissant was very nice, The staff were very friendly
Cons: It's a shame there are a lot less vegan options

Great selection of vegan cakes - Edit
We were recommended by Elliott's to come here. The main menu only has a vegan breakfast but there's a big cake range including doughnuts! Oat, Almond and Soya milks for hot drinks. Dog friendly and comfy seats.

Em’s Den - Edit
Tucked away just off the promenade, between two amusement arcades, is Em’s Den. I came across this little café through Elliot’s Fish and Chip Shop’s page, where I noticed they mentioned vegan cakes — so I decided to pop in and see what was on offer.
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised when the staff told me that all the cakes available that day were vegan, except for the hot cross buns. I can never resist a slice of lemon cake, so I picked one up to take away, along with an almond croissant for breakfast the next morning.
The lemon cake was absolutely lovely — moist, with a bright zesty flavour and a creamy filling. The staff were helpful and friendly, and I appreciated that the packaging was cardboard and recyclable. Dog-friendly café too.

Lovely breakfasts - Edit
A small cafe in a gift shop almost right on the front with excellent sea views. Dog friendly. Very nice staff. Does do meaty breakfasts as well, so suited the omnivorous other half as well as me. Cakes available which we took away with us today - almond croissant and loaded chocolate cake. Very nice coffee

Amazing cakes! - Edit
Today they didn't have any vegan savoury food, but I had the Biscoff sponge (which was delicious and something I had never had before, really creamy and moist) and I took away a Biscoff cheesecake and an Oreo cake. It's really great that they have many cakes and all vegan. It's a shame that only the cakes are vegan, but still 👍

Great little cafe and shop - Edit
Excellent range of vegan cakes and plant milks, and art shop selling some very tempting trinkets. Glad I was on my motorcycle or I would have ended up spending a fortune! 😂

Em's Den. A perfect small business - Edit
Went in 4 days in a row whilst on a small holiday. Located on the sea front, Elliot and Em are a lovely and kind couple that really care about providing drinks and treats to anyone and everyone. All of the cakes are vegan friendly, as well as all the drinks available with none dairy options.
Read moreOver the 4 days, I tried every cake. All were brilliant, with a personal favourite being the biscoff sponge. All cakes can be provided with cream and custard too (vegan).
Its a perfect small business that deserves lot's of postive attention.
Highly, highly recommended to everyone (vegans and none vegans), as well as Dogs. My fiance's dog enjoyed his treats.
Overall a lovely and friendly experience. Will be coming back soon to try any new additions, as well as Elliot's fish & chips.
Thank you,
Wilan
