Obviously: just a burger! - Edit
But a rather good one. You must try the polenta fries! A truly unique dish and a lovely surprise in a rather old fashioned brewery atmosphere.

Nice find in Kaikoura! - Edit
A bit out of the way (down a side street and around the back), but once you get there you will find a very cool, funky brewery. They have lots of craft brews on tap, soft drinks, and a permanent food truck that serves up burgers and similar style food. The one vegetarian main - a black bean patty on a pretzel bun - can be made vegan by omitting the cheese… and it’s great! They also have vegan polenta fries (quite a large portion as well) served with a vegan aioli, which are delicious as well. I’m sure vegans could also get hot chips with the aioli.

Service was friendly and timely, and the server was knowledgeable about the vegan options.
For those inclined, they also have mini golf and escape rooms!

Cons: It would be great if they had more vegan options.

Fab find in Kaikours - Edit
Amazing to find this spot open on a quiet winter's Monday. Cosy dining area with good music and it's of board games. All their brewed on site beers are vegan friendly and you can get a 5 beer taster for $24. Staff are friendly and they have mini golf to play. Also escape rooms but we didn't try those.
