Amazing food in Poughkeepsie - Edit
This is precisely the place you want to go when you’re hungry. The atmosphere is chill, the restaurant is spotless, the owner is very friendly and welcoming, and her food taste out of this world. Very impressive offering with a lot of diverse options on what to get for vegans and non vegan. As a local Dutchess county resident who has eaten out all over this county, I highly recommend this.

Dinner at Empire was phenomenal, and it exceeded every single expectation. We were warmly welcomed into the dining room, and Michelle and Chef Marcus were so friendly and attentive during our whole visit!
Read moreThey have several vegan options, all of which are clearly indicated on the menu. We tried the Trinidadian jerk “chicken” and a Haitian black bean stew in addition to a couple Jamaican patties, and all were incredible. The entrees were served with rice, sautéed veggies, and fried plantains. Everything was expertly cooked and seasoned, and I was impressed that the sides were equally as enjoyable as the entrees.
I would say Empire has the most well-planned, satisfying, and thoughtful vegan menu of any restaurant in town.
Chef Marcus is not a chef you want to miss!
