Avenida Guarani, Puerto Iguazu, Argentina

Serves meat, vegan options available. Inexpensive food and juice bar, a 2-minute walk from the bus station. Has empanadas with spinach and onion that are vegan-suitable, and a large main dish of stir fried vegetables in soy sauce (ask for rice if you want it). Try the kiwi and orange juice.

Decent but nothing to write home about - Edit

As another reviewer wrote, there are spinach and palm heart empanadas as well as a few salad options and stir fry. The salad was very fresh and the tomatoes were delish, but the rest was not so special. I was starving after a 20 hour bus ride from Buenos Aires, so everything tasted good. They have indoor seating with air conditioning as well as a patio.

Pros: Friendly staff, Quick service, very casual , Decent options in area with few vegan options

Cons: Not much atmosphere

Very few vegan options - Edit

First, I fixed the location marker in the map, so you can safely disregard the warning about that in the earlier review.

I came hoping for vegan empanadas, but it appears they don't serve those anymore here. I asked (in Spanish) and was told that the vegetarian empanadas have cheese. I wondered if that might've been the case just today, so I asked if they always have cheese, and she said yes.

They do, however, have fresh juices, a salad with hearts of palm, and a veggie stir fry, all for slightly cheaper than some of the other local veg-friendly places.

There's both indoor and outdoor seating, and during my hot afternoon visit the outdoor tables were much cooler thanks to the breeze (not much circulation indoors).

Cheap and Friendly, not much vegan options but enough vegetarian ones - Edit

First, the position in the map is not correct, it is located way more to the right, near to the cross between Misiones and Cordova streets.
It is not a vegetarian place, rather has some vegetarian options, at least 2 of them is vegan (Wok de vegetales con salsa de soja & Ensalada multicolor), and of course salad fruit. The place is really cheap, a good deal.

Pros: Cheap, some vegan choice

Good fresh food - Edit

A nice option in a town with limited options. My boyfriend and I are vegan. We had been traveling in Argentina for a little over 2 months when we ate here in April 2015. Puerto Iguazu had the most limited vegan dining options we had experienced on our trip.

This place had good quality and cheap vegetarian and vegan options. We each had two of the vegan empanadas, a smoothie (pineapple/passionfruit & strawberry/kiwi) and we shared the 7 veggie salad and a veggie wok. The food was simple but good and satisfying. The seven veggie salad, was actually only 6 veggies, carrots, 2 colors of cabbage, hearts of palm, tomato and lettuce. The wok was a similar mix of veggie cooked. We would recommend this place to any vegans traveling to Puerto Iguazu. The service was quick and friendly as well.

Very cheap and friendly service! - Edit

We ate here in Feb 2015 and had the spinach and onion empanadas which were the nicest we have had so far in Argentina. For dinner one night we came here and ate the stir fired vegetables in soy sauce for 40 pesos which was the cheapest meal we had in town. The dish is big, but not served with rice so ask for ‘con arroz’ (with rice) unless you just want the vegetables stir fried alone. We also got them to make us a vegetable salad sandwich for our long bus journey back to Buenos Aries which they wrapped up securely for take away. The food was nice and we also had a orange and kiwi juice, squeezed fresh and it was absolutely delicious! The staff are very friendly!
