Food for Adults, Fun for Kids

We visited with Dee and her daughter (see her review below), and could've sworn I reviewed at the time! A great place if you've kids, because of the play area, but clearly enjoyed by adults alike. Outside seating for fine weather, and some indoors in the converted greenhouse. If you're visiting Eltham Palace for the first time, allow plenty of time to walk the house and grounds.

Pros: A few vegan options, Good play area, Lovely location

Cons: A bit pricey

Cafe with a Great Playground

English Heritage cafe which is busy with families visiting the palace grounds. The cafe overlooks a huge kids' playground so it is a great place to come with little ones. There are also changing facilities and high chairs as well as booster seats.
The kitchen serves hot food from 12. This includes chilli nachos with vegan cheese, jacket potato with vegan cheese and a vegan sausage roll. Cabinet food includes a houmous wrap, mezze salad as well as two cakes, a cookie and a flapjack. All items are clearly marked vegan. The ones that we tried were good.
You need to buy a ticket for the grounds to get in to the cafe which is quite expensive. The cafe is fairly pricey and 4.50 for a small cup of fruit really took the biscuit.
For the whole thing it is an expensive day out but if you have kids to keep amused it's a nice treat, especially on a nice day.

Pros: Vegan options are clearly labelled, Great play area

Cons: Serves meat, dairy and eggs, 4.50 for a few pieces of fruit!!
