Delicious restaurant in Byron Bay - Edit

Beautiful place with delicious food. The whole time I wanted to ask the chef how he manages to make it so tasty! The cashew cheesecake was amazing although we didn't have much space left for dessert :)
A little bit pricier than some other places, but the experience is totally worth it. It's not a fast food cafe, but rather a fine dining vegan restaurant which are hard to find. Favourite vegan place in Byron Bay.

Pros: amazing food, interesting creative dishes, all vegan

Great place - Edit

Once you figure out when it's open. Their Facebook page doesn't exist anymore and the website of the chain doesn't list the hours for this particular restaurant. I've uploaded the times as a photo for other visitors. We went for breakfast after unsuccessfully trying dinner the day before (we got there at 4pm). Everything on the menu was gf and vegan. We went for the pancakes which were great and very thoroughly made!! We were impressed. Nice and friendly waiters. Would definitely recommend!

Pros: Food very thought through, Decor impressive, Everything gf and vegan

Cons: Difficult finding info about them, Slightly costly but worth it

Very "Byron" & tasty food. Great chip! - Edit

Cool place that feels very at home in Byron - amazing fit out and wooden furniture (enough to mention in a review!).

Humble burger was tasty but could do with a little more sauce. Nice salad & the chips were incredible. Reason to go back in itself. Instagram worthy food!

Drink also delicious! Great friendly service too.

Pros: Top service. , Amazing interior. , Unique food & drink *****

Cons: On the pricey side for traveller. , More sauce would be nice on Humble burger.

Hit and Miss - Edit

We went 4 times on our recent Byron visit. The first 2 visits were good. The last 2 left a lot to be desired.Calamari clogged together, old salad leaves, watery aioli, untoasted burger buns, unenthusiastic service[we waited a long time to be seated despite no other customers].There are some great items such as a a pulled jackfruit burger, when prepared well. The chips are usually tasty with good seasoning. The coconut calamari, when well prepared, is tasty.

Pros: Vegan, Gluten free

Cons: Unfriendly service a lot of the time, Needs more consistency with food preparation

Vegan food in hobbit-moderne surrounds - Edit

The place mixes the modern with the hobbit, so you get large chemistry beakers filled with live plants sitting on your wooden table, and plastic plants mixed among the herbs and other living greenery.

It's a nice, welcoming contrast of hobbit and new.

As to the food, i had some spiced chips, which were made of potato, beetroot and sweet potato along with turmeric kimchee and some pickle. I had a kaffir lime tonic to go with this.

The spiced chips were tasty, though a little salty. Some were also a little firm. Unless that was the texture they were going for, i'd say they were a bit undercooked. The aioli that came with them was thin and watery.

The turmeric kimchi and pickle were nice, although the serve of the pickle, in particular was small, and both were difficult to eat without spilling from the small crescent dishes they came in.

The pickle was interesting, as instead of coming as a whole pickle (a small one based on the quantity i got), it was made up of thin shaves.

The kimchi and pickle also came on this uneven wooden platter, so unless you wanted to pretend you were eating on the rolling seas, this made eating the them even trickier.

The spritzer was very fresh and had a distinct herbal element - as well as looking pretty green from what i think was added chrlorophyll. I decided to take it as is, though it wasn't sweet enough for me, but the barman would've been happy to add sweetening if i'd asked.

The main waitress i had was very helpful, and other staff were also friendly.

Overall, i like the place, despite some glitches which might iron out - they only opened this month. An interesting twist on presentation, food and drinks.
