Bad Experience

Very bad experience. The front line staff took our order and we waited for about half an hour, as we were rushing, I proceed to ask the same staff when the order will be available. The staff told me the kitchen is preparing the food already AND YET the staff asked me what my order is , I was stunned and said you were the one who took our order, just check the order again. After checking, again , the staff still asked for my order. And apologised that the order was not entered.

1)we were waiting for almost 30 minutes, the staff did not come over to check why we were not served,

2)the staff lied that the kitchen is already preparing when firstly he did not even check first AND most importantly even after checking, did not know what our order is at all. Hence I can affirm he is lying.

Please do look into the matter , whether it is due to a system order, the way our enquiry was handled is NOT warranted for. I hope this is an isolated incident of someone who was overworked and that the level of service will not be what I was faced with for the sake of your further customers. Thank you.

You can email me for any further query .

Vegans beware: this location doesn’t get it

This elemen location struggles to offer a few vegan options but fails on several counts.

1. You can’t trust that items marked vegan on the menu are actually vegan. For example: the avocado sushi is marked vegan but contains non-vegan mayo, and the Ee-fu is marked vegan but the noodles contain egg. Some servers may be aware of this but others will need to go ask the chef. (Obviously, no menu should mislabel like this, and it really should be fixed.)

2. This location has a smaller menu than the Great World City location, with fewer vegan options (about 5 in total on our last visit, including soups and salads).

3. When they’re busy they won’t accommodate veganization requests, or (worse) they will agree to make a certain dish vegan but then bring it to the table in the regular non-vegan form.

When they’re busy, service can be rushed and not very attentive, which can make the odds worse for vegans. We suggest coming only during off-peak hours.

Note that the “elemen appetizer” contains 3 amuse bouche items but only 2 of the 3 are vegan (the beetroot and the melon), so be sure to ask your server to include only the vegan ones.

Note also that the photos of the soups may be misleading. The menu shows them with heaping portions of the herbs and mushrooms, but in fact there were just a few bit floating in broth.

Vegans are best off ordering the “sizzling” brown rice with red quinoa, which is currently the only reliably vegan main dish on the menu (as of Feb 2024, but that may change), and is reasonably good.

We hope they will improve the issues above, and if they do we will update this review. We often stay with family nearby so we would love to come more often if they can do better serving vegans.

Nice set meals and a la carte menu

Tried the 8 course set. It’s really satisfying and filling 😆 actually 5 course set will be good (only available on weekday and non public holidays). A good veggie treat while it’s slightly pricey. #Veganuary

Pros: Great selection , Taste good , Visually pleasing

Cons: Slightly pricey

Must try their sushi, most recommended

1. Truffle broth ramen
The smell was great, taste not bad, worth trying, think my nose like truffle more than my mouth lol.

2. Avocado roll with seaweed tempura tofu
This was great, the avocado roll was perfect, most recommended.

3. Spinach mushroom pizza
Personally i like this pizza more than their signature wild mushroom and white truffle pizza, as the spinach is so fresh and the feta cheese really brings the whole pizza to the next level, recommended.

4. Dragon fruit guava juice
It was so perfect that i almost wanted to order for another cup, recommended.

5. Meatless unagi roll
The unagi doesn't taste like eggplant at all, and the sauce tastes like the real non-vegetarian unagi sauce, super good, most recommended.

6. Braised bailing mushroom with Ee Fu noodles, not bad, good, worth trying.

7. Wild mushroom and white truffle pizza, their signature pizza, good, worth trying.

instagrammable” vegetarian restaurant

I love their VIP room. Quiet and nice view.
Can consider to order 5 course or 8 course set because it comes with an appetiser, choice of salad and/or soup ( 8 course gets both), main, dessert and beverage.

Pros: Friendly staffs , Membership with points , VIP room with round table

Peace ...

Good Location and delish plant-based food ...

Plant-based and delish. There're some dishes which are simply delicious that you would want to order again. The Blue Flower Tofu with Black Truffle Wild Rice ($15.8) is one of the dishes in Elemen that I like - especially the Blue Flower Tofu! Unique. I love the the piping hot rice too, simply tasty.

Simply love the Wild Mushroom White Truffle Pizza ($16.8), repeatedly order this pizza. Light, crispy and tasty!

Not a Chocolate lover, so I prefer the Tiramisu rather that the Chocolate Mousse Dome. 5-course set meal at $26.8 or 8-course set meal at $32.8, may be a good option than order individually.

Poor service

We were dinning at Elemen Harbourfront on Saturday 2-Feb, 4 of us. Reservation was made through their website which is pretty convenient. We were seated at the 2nd booth seat on the right from the entrance. We have ordered a CNY special set, 2 5-course dinner set and a 1 8-course dinner set. Shortly after our order has taken place, we were surprised to see the speed of the food rushing out. My wife and myself have been to Elemen a few times and also Sufood in Raffles City. We were actually very impressed by Sufood at Raffles City that was the first time we went. The food was served in a very professional manner with the servers explaining the dish to us and in a timely manner meaning that only after we have finished our current dish will they serve the next dish. Our experience with Elemen Habourfront is totally different. The servers did not bother to explain or even inform what dish they were serving, simply by just putting the dish on the table (considered job done). And all the dishes were rushed out almost at the same time (I am impressed by the speed honestly). Seems like you go to the hawker centre and order ZiChar and then everything come out at once .... LOL.

Anyway that wasn't what we were expecting so there is a big gap between what we have experienced before and the actual experience at Elemen Habourfront.

Pros: Easy to order menu, Store manager very friendly

Cons: Poor service, Noisy environment, Not worth the money

Nice fresh healthy food

Lovely restaurant in shopping mall, friendly staff. Vegan options are clearly marked in the menu as well as those containing nuts and dairy. Had the tortilla soup which was really nice and my partner had the pesto fettuccini (not vegan).
Portions were ideal for a light brunch.
Nice touch with the table water being infused with rosemary.

Tasty food but meagre servings

We dined here on a Sunday evening meaning that the set course meal was not an option. I ordered the Chinese mushroom noodle which is vegan and my partner had the truffle mushroom pasta which is not. We both enjoyed the food but it was expensive for what it was and we both felt we could have eaten two servings and may still have been hungry. Still it’s nice to have clear options as there are not too many in this area

Pros: Tasty treats

Cons: Few vegan options, Small portions

Delicious food, could have more vegan options

We loved the food! Was quite expensive though for the size of the dishes. Very tasty though. Could have more vegan options as a lot of them had milk.

Pros: tasty food

Cons: expensive , not a lot of vegan options

Amazing CNY Reunion Meal

Elemen is a restaurant offering a pleasant dining experience by serving wholesome food that benefits your health without compromising the Earth’s sustainability. This Chinese New Year they will have a menu serving a wonderfully made 8 course menu that is sure to fulfill your reunion meal needs.

Chinese New Year ‘Proper-licious’ Course Menu:

We start off with Handmade Rosemary Breadsticks and Raspberry Yoghurt for starters. I was very fascinated by the shiny pink yoghurt but I couldn’t try it ‘cause (obviously) it has dairy in it. The bread sticks are vegan! It’s infused with rosemary so it smells aromatic.

Then comes the 松露 富貴撈生 Truffle Yu Sheng with a grand entry of dry ice fog.
What a sight to see! You can smell the truffle scent from afar. The Yu Sheng consist of Konnyaku slices, shaved truffle mushroom slices, Beetroot, peanuts, sesame seeds, pomelo, ginger, carrot, red cabbage, crackers, curry leaves and edible flowers. What I love about this Yu Sheng is that is it includes curry leaves to enhance the flavour of the dish. The downside of it is that the combination of usually strong flavours (pomelo and ginger) covered up the taste of truffle mushrooms.

Next, we have the 元素五行湯 5 Elements Soup. This soup was boiled for 5 hours with ingredients such as 竹笙 Bamboo Fungus, 黃木耳 Jelly Fungus, 香菇 Shiitake Mushroom, and 紅棗 Jujube, inside a coconut shell, adding a coconut fragrance to the soup. The coconut flesh comes off smoothly and has that ‘creamy’ flavour to it - definitely my favourite!

The 金蠔菇伴竹炭豆腐 Charcoal Beancurd with Golden Oyster Mushroom dish isn’t vegan as it contains egg. It’s also made with charcoal and soy milk. My friends at the same table love the flavour only that it needs more sauce for it.
For me, I had one with fried silken tofu instead! The sauce went perfectly well with the tofu and asparagus that don’t mind second servings!

We’re served with 幸福蘋果醋 Apple Cider Vinegar right after as a palette cleanser for what comes next.

如意爆竹金絲巢 Firecracker Nest dish is made vegan for everyone at the table. It usually contains milk and eggs. It is Lion’s Mane Mushroom covered in fiery hot red chilli pepper, hence the name ‘Firecracker’.
The spiciness comes with a hint of numbness to it, sort of like 小辣 little spice or 中辣 medium spice for Mala Hotpot. I love this!

常滿紅燒松露蒸飯 Steamed Truffle Rice with Braised Sauce combines truffle flavour with savouriness of the sauce. It’s sort of like steamed glutinous rice but with an extra aromatic flavour that made the dish taste so amazing.

草莓梅子特調 Strawberry with Plum Sauce Drink has mint leaves, and both freeze dried strawberry bits and a fresh strawberry halve as topping. Needs a bit of stir to bring up the sweet plum sauce at the bottom. This was very refreshing.

We end the meal with dessert! The 香椰雪糕紫米粥 Purple Rice Porridge with Coconut Ice Cream was switched to a Coconut Sorbet to accommodate the vegans at the table. With the heaviness in flavour for coconut milk and rice porridge, I say the dessert suits better if it’s with a sorbet rather than ice cream!

Pros: Using ingredients that doesn’t compromise the eart, pleasant dining experience
