Food made with love!

Much more than simply food, dining at Elegant Cuizine is an experience that will stay with me for a long time. Water poured over my hands before eating was like a blessing! One reason I embrace a vegan lifestyle is to avoid eating food with traumatized energy; it is apparent that each bite of delicious food prepared by Theresa is quite the opposite! Full of love and care! Treat yourself to a delicious experience!

amazing!

The food was really amazing! The waiter asked if it was a special occasion, and we told him it was mine and my husband's anniversary! Chef Headen came out out with a sweet potato pie tart and a lemon smoothie. Everything was already amazing, and that topped everything off!

Best Birthday Dinner!

So I went here on my birthday last April, and I kid you not, if this wasn’t one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to in Richmond, I don’t know what is. It’s not entirely vegan, but it was entirely gluten-free, which I heavily appreciated. It felt very high end, and the wait staff were an absolute pleasure! I tried this beautiful and delicious strawberry drink, and for my entree, I ordered the Garlic Butter Palava Vegan Chicken with the Smoked Veggie Medley. Since I told the waiter that it was my birthday, he later surprised me with this beautiful vegan dessert! 🥰 to this day, I still can’t get the taste of it out of my mind or mouth. I highly recommend eating here, especially if you’re a gluten-free vegan like me! #Veganuary

Mixed feelings

So, we went there based on the reviews. We had the artichoke dip as the appetizer and it was good, then the crab cakes for main and those were amazing. Then dessert was a disaster: we got a very big tiramisu that was hard, old and nothing like the pictures; the lemon tart tasted like cardboard. Wine selection was pretty dismal too.

I was also a little shocked at how expensive it is, and that’s saying something since we come from NYC.

EDIT: took one star after realizing how much food around here should cost, especially of this quality.

‘Extraordinary’ is an understatement (Wow!)

Such a treat it was to visit and to sample two of the extraordinarily delicious vegan dishes! I enjoyed meeting Teresa and chatting with Charles, and then, OMG, the Roasted Jerk Brussels Sprouts, the Curried Pesto Pasta, and the “Live Long” signature drink (lavender, lime juice, sparkling water)! Took a Vegan Lemon Tart back to my hotel, with plans to enjoy it with breakfast.

Pros: Welcoming owners, passionate about what they do…, Incredibly delicious food, beautifully presented., Dairy-free and GF options for non-vegans.

Cons: Too far (550 mi.) from my home! 😉

"Real" Food

This restaurant has dairy and processed food free vegan options. I had the vegan fish sandwich, which is made from an eggplant. It was absolutely delicious. The vegan ice cream was also yummy. The owner and staff are really friendly. Overall, its a personalable and intimate setting with delicious food.

Elegant Cuizines

This restaurant is one of my favorite places. It has an elegant atmosphere, and the chef, who is also the owner. Teresa has a passion for fresh food, beautifully presented and very creative. I’m crazy about her vegan options, which are numerous incredibly delicious. Add can be made according to allergies and gluten-free. It’s a bit pricey, but well worth it and a great place for special occasions, as well as pop in lunches and appetizer.

Best vegan experience: quality and presentation

About the only restaurant in town, aside from Blue Atlas, that puts out this level of high-quality vegan dishes with stunning plate presentation. Elegant cuisines has some phenomenal dishes and I wish more restaurants upped there vegan fair to this level. It's definitely worth going, getting a table, and admiring the art they put out on each plate. The chef definitely brings her A game. 

The vegan quiche and French toast for brunch is outstanding. For dinner, the garlic butter oyster mushroom and birria egg rolls are amazing.

I do hope that more vegans support it, and the owner considers making it entirely vegan.
