Extremely Rude Cashier - Edit
Went here after a long hike hoping to have a quick, good vegan meal. They were advertising a veggie sampler, so I asked the cashier if it was all vegan. She proceeded to list off items with cheese in them, so I clarified that the cheese made it not vegan. She didn’t understand and rudely said “well yeah it’s vegan if you eat cheese” dismissively, which obviously doesn’t make sense.
Read moreEnded up ordering the veggie empanadas and veggie burger, and after getting the burger I asked if it indeed was a veggie burger (since it looked like meat and the cashier didn’t know what vegan meant). Before I could even speak she condescendingly said “that’s the veggie burger”
Food was ok - not worth going here just to be talked down to, go to degree 18 juice bar which is close by with better food and friendly service.

Great post-hike spot - Edit
I got 2 veggie empanadas with fries, and my non vegan partner got a chicken empanada. It was great to have such a convenient place to stop for food that we both enjoy after a long hike! The prices are also very budget friendly, which I really appreciated.

Yummy!!! - Edit
The staff was super friendly, very knowledgeable about what was and was not vegan. I got the rice and beans and vegetable platter and it was delicious and filling. Had friend plantains on the side and a watermelon smoothie! Delicious!

Refreshing spot during a hot day! - Edit
The veggie empanadas were so flaky and delicious! Had a strawberry smoothie as well that was the perfect amount of sweetness. The one downside is that the hours seem to be inconsistent - Google said they opened at 10 but they actually opened at 10:30 today.

Great spot to stop for a snack - Edit
I'm so glad we stumbled upon El Yunque Rainforest Cafe during our trip! It was the perfect little spot to stop and get a quick snack and rest for a few minutes. It's just a small place with a few tables outside, but it's surrounded by beautiful scenery, has a few decent vegan options, and the employees were super kind and helpful! All of their smoothies are made without milk. I got a watermelon smoothie and it was just what I needed to get refreshed and continue hiking. If you ever find yourself in El Yunque Rainforest and need a little break and a snack, definitely stop by El Yunque Rainforest Cafe!
