Simply one the best vegan restaurants we have experienced. After a few weeks starving in the Alps, which are obsessed with serving animals in various forms, this was an oasis of joy. Imaginative menu executed with perfection.

It s a beautiful space, nicely decorated, very attentive and caring staff, and the nicest was, that our doggie got a blanket to lie on, a bowl of food and some water, and she is ever since definitely in love with the place. we are, too, as it is so rare to be welcomed to a restaurant with a dog in spain, and to have her treated as one more guest is heartwarming. we just had cake and coffee, the piece of cake was a bit too tiny for my taste, but good for the rest. The coffee of excellent quality, and i appreciate the choice of 4 vegetable milks to choose from. i am happy to see around info material about animals and veganism.

This place is very posh and the plates are not vey big. I was quite afraid I would be not satisfied but no, the meals were fulfilling and with quality. I recommend asking for night menu (18 for 2 plates and a dessert) which is a really good offer. If you are in the area, head to El Vergel

Like entering some sort of vegan heaven! The restaurant decor is beautiful, even a visit to the toilets is a pleasure! Lots of engaging details have been considered in the design of the interior and service is fantastic to match.

An amazing place to find in Tarragona. It is a little bit expensive; but the overall experience makes it fully worthwhile. Go here and you won't be disappointed.
Originally visited in 2015. We ate here again in 2018 and it was just as great as we remembered!

I've been to this restaurant couple times already and it never disappointed me. The menus dishes change and everytime they surprise me with the options they offer. I really like that they do various, interesting things where you can appreciate the combination of flavors and presentation (not hummus and veggie burger like in most of the places). It's a must to try if you are in Tarragona! Ah and the desserts are A M A Z I N G.

This is such an amazing restaurant! 100% vegan with lots of great options - try the Seitan Teriyaki Skewers and all of the tips go to local animal sanctuaries 💕 Also has vegan merchandise on sale. Also has every kind of tea (black, green, white, herbal) available.

I visited with my family whilst on holiday and the food was sublime! It’s very garlicky but I love garlic so that was fine. My mum pointed out that for a vegan restaurant there isn’t actually many vegetables. There is also a small shop inside with vegan clothing, accessories and cookies etc. It is in an excellent location near to the cathedral and the staff are so friendly and speak excellent English.

Los veganos tenemos mucha suerte de que exista El Vergel.
Tienen menu del dia a 15€ (primero, segundo, postre, pan y agua incluido). Platos elaborados, con una cuidadosa y excelente presentación y sabores inigualables.
Las croquetas son un MUST.

There really isn't a best place than this one to eat delicious vegan food. The only drawback is that it's a bit expensive, but not excessively (only if you're a student like me).

Sehr schönes Lokal mit fantastischem veganem Essen. Preis-Leistung absolut in Ordnung. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das "El Vergel" ist absolut zu empfehlen, wir kommen bestimmt wieder, wenn wir in der Nähe sind.

I’m from Tarragona and had a hard time eating vegan out. El Vergel solved it, now it’s my go to restaurant in town. Affordable menu and good food with a twist. Beautiful space and atmosphere, simple and clean. They offer tons of information on veganism if you’re interested. They also have products to sell on the front like food, drinks, books, teas, etc. Been there like 10 times and enjoy always. When you go once they give you a discount coupon to use within a week. I miss it now that I live in Japan!

This place is really lovely; wonderful food, affordable, all vegan and creative (first time I had vegan chorizo!). Absolutely loved the passion fruit desert. This restaurant and Tarragona itself are two good reasons for making it a day trip from Barcelona!

The food was so tasty. I was for a launch time and they had a vegan daily menu. It cost 15eur and that included 2 meals and dessert. I got a voucher valid for a week which gives 2.5eur discount for a daily menu. The place has a nice decor. I just love it!

Platos muy deliciosos y sobrados de cantidad en un menú de 14€, con unos postres también increibles. Selección de vinos y cavas de muy buena calidad. La única pega es que esté tan lejos de Barcelona. XD

I've eaten here several times, and it's always very good. The rotating menu is quite nice, they have a huge selection of beer and wines (all vegan), and the waiters and waitresses are all very knowledgeable about the food. The decor is also very nice- the aesthetic comes through and it's clear that the owners have a stylish edge on their business. It's also clear that they take animal rights and vegan ethics very seriously, because there are so many fliers, signs and posters advocating for different Spanish animal rights organizations, events and such. You can also bring your dog into the restaurant to eat with you, and the staff will give them a special water bowl and even some vegan dog treats, which I think it just great. At early evening (Before sunset), the place can get VERY busy, so time your trip if you plan on eating here. All in all, it's just lovely, and well worth the price.
