Disappointing - Edit

This place makes me sad - it was frankly the worst meal we had in Mexico.

My veggie burger was burnt, yet mysteriously not hot. It may have tasted okay otherwise. My chips where freezer variety, and not thoroughly cooked (cold inside, nor crisp). My wife had huevo rancheros that were cold.

Just as cold was the service - grumpy sums it up in a word.

Pros: Location, Outdoor seating

Cons: Bad food, Bad service

not so hot - Edit

I arrived when the sign on the door said cerrado, but got a smile and a welcome anyways. Good start and I was happy, but I think the waiter was disappointed that my spanish wasnt sufficient and my meal budget limited but enough for most meals on the menu.
The meal was overcooked and lukewarm and I was worried I was going to get sick. I asked for a reheat. The waiters welcoming smile was gone and I felt like an intruder. It was a couple of hours ago. I have a little heartburn but feel fine. But Ill never go back there if I can choose another place. Preparation and service with Love is important to me.

Vegan? - Edit

The food was good (a nice salad, soup, main dish, bread, agua de fruta), but I was confused about whether or not they used dairy. I'm pretty proficient in Spanish so it was not a language issue. The first two people that I asked said that they did not use dairy and when I asked about a cream sauce that I saw they said that it was made with masa. But then when I double-checked with my waiter before ordering he said that some things did have milk.

el vegetariano - Edit

the staff is very helpful. there are menus in english and there was a woman who spoke english there, they were willing to adjust the food in the menu of the day to make it all vegan. the atmosphere was very nice, there is live music there. we went back to eat there three times during our week in mexico city. the menu of the day is a very good deal, 57 pesos for salad, soup, juice, bread, 2 entrees, and a dessert.

Pros: english menus, vegan-friendly, good value

Just okay - Edit

Mostly ovo & lacto vegetarian foods that taste average, but at least it's vegetarian. There is a counter with stools for sitting as well as tables. I think the vegetarian restaurant on Madero around the corner is better.

Pros: has baked goods, near centro square

Cons: a bit boring on taste, average selections, uninviting decor
