My partner and I visited El Urogallo and enjoyed a lentil dish with rice, potatoes & carrots, as well as a vegan burger patty with fries, salad, hummus & guacamole. It was delicious and our bill including a 1.5L bottle came to just 13 euros.

We were happy to find a vegan friendly restaurant on our way back from Caminito del Rey. You can choose from various vegan options including a dessert. Reasonable prices and lovely staff. I would 100% recommend a visit 🙂

No es habitual que en los pueblos haya bares con opciones veganas y este me sorprendió. Tiene variedad vegana y aún más vegetarianas. Además la chica que nos atendió te dice la carta según tus preferencias alimentarias.

The owner Helena made a charming host entertaining us with her translation of the menu and our failing Spanish. We enjoyed every Vegan dish served, even s choice of Vegan deserts. Homemade chorizo, Vegan style was one of the dishes we sampled together with "lupin" beans and a mushroom curry. All very tasty. A visit is a must, very worthwhile. We shall definitely be going again. Prices are low, so leave a generous tip - it's worth it..

So many wonderful vegan options! Excellent home made food, delightful service and very reasonably priced. Menu not marked with what's vegan (it puts off the locals apparently!) but they happily explain. A real gem in the beautiful Spanish countryside.

Propuestas de mejora:
1.Mejorar la hamburguesa.
2.Añadir ingredientes en el menú.
Mi hija pequeña rechazó las croquetas porque tenían mucho cilantro. Estaban riquísimas pero es una hierba con un sabor fuerte que los niños pueden rechazar fácilmente. Me habría gustado saberlo de antemano.
Repetiremos sin duda. Muchas gracias y suerte a la camarera-escritora con su libro!!! 😉

Lovely food place with a homely feel - Edit
What a lovely place! The young woman Helena who took our order and served us was so kind and friendly, nothing was too much and offered things outside of the menu to accommodate us. The restaurant is a family run restaurant and Helena's mother is the chef and her food is delicious! The vegan menu is great and we really enjoyed the food!

I really thought the place Happy Cow had directed me had closed and been replaced by a typical small-town Spanish bar with no idea what 'vegan' means.
Read moreLuckily, I went in and asked and realised I'd misjudged them. Excellent service, great coffee, and the tostada espinaca was pretty good too. Would come back and totally recommend if you're passing through Alora.
